Can an agenda be sexually attracted to another agenda?
I think the "far right religious anti-gay agenda" is sexually attracted to the topic of "gay sex", especially gay male sex. It's all they seem to talk about. And they seem to get very excited.
It's similar to pedophiles who connect on the internet, and then convince themselves that their desires aren't really that rare. After all, if everyone they talk to online agrees with them, then their views must be pretty common. They then convince themselves that they're really the ones who are in the majority, and that there's some sinister conspiracy to silence them.
Pedophiles and ardent social conservatives have something in common.
And this heterosexual female just passed her 61st birthday and I have been fighting for equality for more than a dozen years now. And many of those I argue with even now are in their 20s and 30s and they seem to come up with the dumbest 'reasons' for opposing equality.
I kinda agree.......I get miffed at the age generalizations too. I'm just past 50.....I'm gay so I'd say I'm for equal rights for all.......there are young homophobes too.
But IN GENERAL....I do believe the younger generations are more accepting.
The gays are 32 votes behind now and were at 31 about an hour ago. I guess they may never catch up on this one. Start another one and try to change the outcome.
Why do you have an "us versus them" mentality about it? Not only that, why do you assume that gays would have voted no? I voted yes.
Why is it, that so few gay people have heard of this obscure book let alone read it? Yet it is referred to on so many anti-gay propaganda websites as if it is something all gay people have read and adhere to.
Pretty much every anti-gay propaganda group follows a plan to vilify gay people by writing and spreading articles ad nauseum based on false junk science and misrepresenting actual studies and research. "Gays are pedophiles, gays are promiscous, sex-crazed perverts, gays are mentally ill etc etc etc."
The other main tactic is to continually play on people's fears about children.
Did I say gays have it worse? No, I said both have been discriminated against. You guys are the ones trying to place moral value on whether segregating and enslaving blacks was worse than executing and imprisoning gays.
You made the slavery comparison in post 65.
While gays have specially designed vacations, slaves had the underground railroad. Do you see many 'no gays allowed' or 'gay water fountain' signs where you live ? Yes, I'll make a moral judgment that slavery was worse than the condition of gays in America.

Hmmmm....maybe if all I did was look at the nasty gay porn and read malicious anti-hetero literature, I'd be antigay too. Fortunately, I read intelligent literature and enjoy movies about gay content that doesn't involve graphic and sundry sex scenes. I thin I'm starting to understand the antigays and why they feel the way do

No, not all gays have the same agenda, any more than All d's, r's, unions, corporations, blacks, have the same agenda.
So, now those who believe there's a general gay agenda watch nasty gay porn, don't read 'intelligent' literature, and are antigay. Does that include gays who agree there's an agenda ?
