Agreed. The people we should be concerned about, if anyone, are the Saudis. Iran can do nothing to us...

If/when the US pulls out of the Middle East, will Saudi or Iran attempt to fill the power vacuum?

Why does it matter?

Well, if Iran tries to move into other oil producing countries, and Iran hates us, we're gonna have higher gas prices.

If Saudi tries to move into other countries, there will probably be opposition,( not that there wouldn't be with Iran)

Saudi and Iran will be the most prominent powers in the area, would they let the Taliban and/or Al Qaeda just 're-build'?

So, we ought to be there to quench our thirst for oil. Got it.

You think that'd be the only consequence of war between the two, or instability in the reason?

We can produce our own oil.

Then why do you have your eyes set on oil there? Let them fight and die.

Probably would take a yr. or two for a draft to be put in place.
There have been whispers of an Israel attack on Irans nuclear facilities for years (reference Israels attack on Iraqs nuclear plant).

The implications wouldn't be good in any scenario. Russia has a vested interest in Iran's nuclear aspirations. It might be good for arm's sales, except for the fact that we'll be expending every weapon we can muster to defend our own ASSets. The US has been selling bunker busters to Israel (in secret) over last few months, and according to author David Hagburg - "Israel held bombing practice runs about a month ago." England' PM just leaked his support of an Israelee attack. Iran attempted to assasinate the Saudi abassador, and did such a bad job of covering it up, it seemed as if they wanted to get caught.

All the cards are lining up for conflict, and with the dolts in power it will surely end up a WW.

Same thing we shoulda done with Hitler in WWII when he was murdering the Jewish people.

Same thing we did when the Turkish slaughtered the Armenians

Same thing we did when the Hungarians tried to overthrow the USSR in 1956.

We should let people be oppressed and killed senselessly. Got it.

Or, when European immigrants were obliterating the natives in the Americas...

I guess, though, that figuring out necessity as different situations dictate may be something beyond your abilities. That A is same as Z, because they are both alphabets.
