As an ex liberal, I'm now a libertarian. I'm curious to know which political spectrum you came from to become a libertarian.

I came from the right because the right is too far right for me
This goes back to the second election of Bush.

I was a neo-conservative who thought Jesus blessed the Iraq War and George Bush was a saint. I thought weed was bad. I have come a long way.

I still regard myself as something of a Reaganite, but -I'm more liberal on things like gay marriage and more conservative on things like free market capitalism.

I put left, because I tend to lean slightly left on social issues. When it comes to things like legalization of marijuana I was NEVER opposed to it. Nor do I have an issue with gays being allowed to marry or join the military. It isn't my lifestlyle, but to each their own. I've always been on the fence about abortion. As a man, I can't say that I've experienced it first hand (duh) or ever had to go through it with a girlfriend, or my wife. I don't think that I could. But to each their own. Until you walk a mile in someone elses shoes you can't judge them. I feel that everyone has a right to health care, but not in the way in which Obama wants to implement it. I was always against the war in Iraq, and currently against all conflicts in the middle east and the fact that we're trying to be a "nation builder" and the world cop!

I tend to be more conservative when it comes to things like the right to bear arms, smaller government, reforming but not necessarily eliminating welfare. I say make it more workfare. I would also say repeal NAFTA, and stop the over regulating of everything! The government needs to quit trying to be in aspect of everyone's personal life, as do employers. I do believe in God, but don't belief in forcing my beliefs on others. If you ask me I will tell you. I have no need to try to "convert" you, but will treat you with kindness and compassion, no matter what race, religion, or culture you are from, and all that I ask is that in return.

In the past 10 years I've learned a lot, and I know that we are heading down a dark path, if we do not wake up and start holding ALL of these politicians accountable! When it comes to having the government end the war on drugs, using the military for defense of our nation ONLY, auditing the fed, not legislating morality, getting tougher on violent crimes, and giving more rights to the victims and not prosecuting for "victimless crimes" such as drug use... those are Libertarian values that I can relate to, and agree with.

I came from the left when I saw that Bill Clinton and his ilk were pathological liars. I also saw the huge subculture in our country of using the system to get other people's money unfairly.

The RINOs are even worse in their own way (The Bush/Cheney mafia were disgusting).

See I don't like that Libertarians get lumped in with what passes for todays so-called "Conservatives."
