I've said it before, and I will say it again. If Obama goes, so does the Republican majority.

I'm not surprised the popularity of Republicans is tanking. Obama did a smart thing. He let the Republicans do all the talking during the "debt crisis".

You would expect them to report something even close to accurate?

Get real,

Great, GOP is dysfunctional, Obama is incompetent... What are we going to do

Why not put to work some of the the able bodied people who are on welfare that contribute nothing back to America?

That is a huge pool of labor that can rebuild roads and bridges.......

THAT makes more sense.

Ok, lets play "who is to blame for the war". Don't be fooled the invasion of Iraq was in the making since the reagan administration. Bush I invaded under the premise that Iraq was trying to control the middle east by invading Kuwait (lie). That ended in a cease fire. Clinton postured and also lied but sent errant cruise missles in areas that often missed it's targets killing hundreds of innocents, this was (supposely) was the reason for reliation for the 9/11 bombing (lie). Bush and company created the massive lie of WMDs (which were there because this country sold them to Iraq to use against Iran), iraq was invaded again for the Oil rights (bush), rebuilding contractors such haliburton(cheney) and the myraid of various defense contractors and military suppliers who had inside connections with the administration. Obama is just continuing what the previous administrations have started since apparently his money comes through Wall St investors and bankers which finance such endeavors.

You're kidding, right?

Balanced budget, cut spending, honoring the Constitution.

RADICAL!

Caught you in a trap..

You always blame Obama for the spending, but in this case, when it suits you, you says that the President doesn't spend.

As a African American I have been saying this for a couple of decades to powerful Caucasian , and always get the same answer ( Nope ) we never do that , and the answer is coming from both the Left & Right . I never got to the bottom of the reasoning for the left , but the right were saying that it would be the curse of the world ( SOCIALISM ) Yuck..Yuck..Yuck.... " the BIBLE had a system " simular to that called " GLEANING " where everybody left the borders of their's fields open for the " Poor To Harvest " thus dealing with the problem of anyone ever being poor and straving to death.
Funny during the war on poverty during the great depression , they called helping the poor COMMUNISM and
during the CIVIL RIGHTS era they called what Dr. Martin Luther King was doing as COMMUNISM also....LOL.

1.) Cleaning up graffiti.
2.) Cleaning up the streets.
3.) Helping out at food pantries and soup kitchens.
4.) Helping out other less fortunate people with housework, yardwork or whatever.
5.) Doing farm work on a government own farm perhaps.
6.) Repair and upkeep of parks, national parks, national forests, public works, etc.
7.) Making clothes, blankets or quilts for other less fortunate folks.
8.) Working for crime prevention organizations.
9.) Helping out at drug rehab centers.
10.) Helping out wherever possible.
... countless other possibilities.

The problem with the system currently is that you can take food and money for doing nothing. Even the disabled, deaf, blind, cripple -- all of them are capable of doing something.

I would also have them doing something that would inclease AMERICA GDP also ,however your list is still pretty good at the very least.

The problem with welfare on a nation-wide scale is that it's extremely difficult to implement that sort of thing. You need to run it at the local level where a case worker can determine what each individual can contribute.

I don't agree about local government because the right leaning local governments would never put something of this sort into operation.

Drug addicts and alcoholics shouldn't qualify for welfare period. But by all means get them into rehab, but only if they are willing to go. But if you want to be on welfare, addicts with a history have to test clean consistently. And in all cases, you should be better off working for minimum wage than pulling government welfare so you have real motivation to get off your butt and go work for a living.
I don't agree DRUG ADDICTS should be placed on WORKFARE period , but paid with food and housing , private transportation , clothing , entertainment debit cards , but NO MONEY because they would spend it ON DRUGS.....LOL
