This is outrageous and ridiculous

Is Fed Raid On Gibson Guitar Company Enforcing Policy . . . Or A Push To Target 'Made In The USA'? | Fox News

Our government has far better things to do than pick on an American Icon like Gibson Guitars. Our tax dollars at work. A few folks in our government need to be job hunting.

There is at least one other large thread on this raid because I posted in it today.

However, having given it some more thought, I'm thinking I may just buy that Gibson F5 mandolin I always wanted. I also need to see what Martin Guitar's politics are. Maybe I need to trade my D35 for a Gibson.

Many environmental laws need to be repealed. The government of India should be worrying about whether Indian wood is being illegally harvested, not the American government.

Well, I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I think its shameful and a complete misuse of our tax dollars. A good point is made in this piece

What about all the other companies using the same woods and supplier of the woods.

Maybe Gibson got their docs from the same guy that made up Obama's birth certificate?

These days there are countless Les Paul clones out there, many cost just a few hundred dollars. And since most players only play for fun, they will do the trick.

Gibson are quite expensive, it is an elite product basically. Just like a good Fender they seem overpriced, frankly.
They are only overpriced if you don't need or want that kind of quality.
