What on earth is the deal with this obsession the United States Government has for Israel. Okay, It's normal and expected that nations will stand by and defend its close friends and allies; however, the relationship between these two countries have gone far, far beyond that.. appearing more like the United States has some sort of an obsession or Worships The State of Israel as its God and protector.

The United States, by defining its relationship with Israel in deity or biblical terms, such as "everlasting", "eternal"., etc seems strange, to say the least. No other nations on earth uses such terminology to describe relations with friends or allies. Such terminology clearly imply that the United States would sacrifice (kill or desroy) it's own citizens, people of other nations, its own economy, its own peace, its own security, etc., for the sake of Israel.

And, these two possessed crazies both have nukes. Scary.

Not many other governments have been around long enough to claim "everlasting" or "eternal". But if you're really looking for clarity regarding the relationship between Israel and the U.S. then I'd suggest you broaden your literary spectrum.

Wow, not even Alex Jones goes this far...everyone worships Israel because, well you say so?

Maybe you should look up what the word worship means before using it in this context.

I've had some evangelical friends say that if we don't stand by Israel and agree with everything they do, then God will no longer bless this country and we will cease to exist. It's based on the verse where God said to Abraham "Those who bless you I will bless; those who curse you, I will curse" So basically that means that if we come out against Jewish settlements in the West Bank, then the U.S. will be destroyed in short time. (I don't believe this, by the way, and I'm an evangelical)

Of course what most Christian zionists forget is that there are palestinian Christians over there who are just as affected by Israeli policies as palestinian muslims. Unfortunately, palestinians are automatically assumed to be muslims--which somehow makes Israeli policies more "okay". So in a way, Christian zionism unintentionally works agaisnt the interests of Arab Christians in Israel. It's also patently unbiblical.

Israel is required to provide stability in the middle east. otherwise there would be constant war.

keep in mind, if saudia arabia really wanted to, they could wipe out Israel. ask yourself why they havent.

Some might argue that Israel is one of the reasons there is constant war and unrest in the region.
Israel is an ally. That doesnt mean that they are our friend. They have their own agenda as all nations do but it would be foolish for us to believe that their agenda is always good for the USA.
Lets not forget before the USS Stark, Before the USS Cole, there was the USS Liberty and it was Israel who attacked and then attacked again and again a US flagged ship.

Israel is stability in the Middle East? Really?

To the question: I would say yes. Why else would all congressmen, presidents, etc bend over to AIPAC, Jewish-American Pro Israeli groups, etc etc.

Every election you see presidential candidates jumping over each other to speak at AIPAC conferences to Jewish-Americans to pledge their unwavering support for Israel... They know if they don't, their campaigns will be ruined since Jews hold so much political clout and $ (over half the nation's billionaires are Jewish).

If the US had any sense, it would drop Israel like a hot potato.

True -- the level of support and cover we provide to Israel defines logic.
