A dispute? Territory is washed by Russia in the Arctic and belongs to Russia in accordance with international laws, as well as the territory is washed by the Canada belongs to Canada In the dispute that?
Internal sea waters in International law -
- the sea, completely surrounded by land one and the same state.
- the sea, the coast of which the two sides of the connection with another sea belong to one and the same state;
- water sea ports;
the Bay, lips, estuaries and bays the coasts of which belong to a single state, and the width of the entrance in which does not exceed 24 nautical miles;
- historical waters of the sea, belonging to the state by virtue of historical traditions;
- water, situated between the shore and source lines of frame width of the territorial sea.

America does not apply to the territory or what side of the business is possible by agreement with these countries which this territory belongs to. Now, imagine what you are arguing in this thread. Russia can pritenzii on the aquatic territory of the adjacent America and fish and produce oil? You say no! As well as Артика to the UN and America has no relation to it, and has not the right there is

you know the massive joint operations we both set up to stop the Soviet Union from flying into North American airspace during the cold war. It is something that should get a little attention from both of us.
No, only in the Russian space do not need to make a mountain out of a molehill

I know this much, they leak as much oil as they produce. For that reason alone the US and Canada should push the Russians out of there.

We can't push Russia out of Russian waters plus the U.S. has mothballed their 2 Polar Class Ice breakers and have no plans to build new ones to replace them and Canada is building the largest Non-Nulcear Ice breaker ever built along with a huge amount 2-3 Ice pack capable Meduim Sized Scienece and Exploration Coast Guard amd expandeding SAR missions since Canada wants to keep the North West Passage and patrol it and Russia wants the Northern Sea Route or North East Passage and Russia and Canada agree and even Support each others Claims since we both have the Largest share of the pie but the rest of the Arctic council has made a huge dispute out of it.

Under international law, no country currently owns the North Pole or the region of the Arctic Ocean surrounding it. The five surrounding Arctic countries, Russia, the United States (via Alaska), Canada, Norway and Denmark (via Greenland), are limited to an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of 200 nautical miles (370 km; 230 mi) adjacent to their coasts.

Canada and Russia also Agree that they do not want it to become really busy with Commerical shipping traffic since they would have to cut through Canadian or Russian waters to get to the through one of 2 open Corridors when the ice Recedes enough to exit out into the Pacific.

The change in Canada regarding territorial matters has been mostly symbolic...It use to be we would sing "From sea to shinning sea" - Now when the Prime Minister speaks he says "From sea too sea too sea"...which is a statement that includes the arctic ...Also there is a trend to have more presence on our arctic coast..in the form of minor military patrols...so far so good- Russia is not that interested in the arctic...From what I have heard- they have lots of arctic of their own...besides- If Russia bothers us we just call our big brother...YOU.....
