The 'Birthers' Began on the Left - The Daily Beast

false. Birthers began from a conservative blog, known by many internet users as Freeperville (freerepublic.com) - it started off as a contest amongst the forum users to "guess" the middle name of Barack Obama. A comment left by a forum participant, stated that Obama was born in Kenya. No back up of the comment, no evidence to support his claim.

It started there, but picked up by many others, including some high profile media personalities and snowballed from there.

The birthers entire argument came on the basis of speculation of Barack Obama's middle name.

WHAT extremely close ties to other countries? As far as I know, his only "tie" to another country is through his sperm donor of a father who happened to be from Kenya.

Sheeesh...after all this time, I can't believe we're back on this crazy train. I also can't believe there are still some people who are so delusional, they still think President Obama wasn't born in Hawaii.

Barackryphal: The Secret Origin of the Birthers
There may have been anonymous posts on websites prior to the efforts of Hillary supporters. Who knows, there could have been murmurs at Trinity Church when Barack was a community organizer. We're really splitting hairs now.

Back on topic, Rick Perry did not 'reach out' to the birthers.

Well, he did live in Indonesia from age 5 - 10. so the morons think that as a kid, he was influenced by his then Indonesian step-father ... yes, a kid at 7 years of age, is "influenced" or "tied" to that country.

Forget that he didn't go back, because his mother divorced his step-father when he was 10 year of age.

and this i agree with. i think if perry had his way he'd avoid birther/birther questions all together. but the question was asked and i do believe that perry did his best to avoid giving a direct answer that would anger the birthers.

doesn't seem to have worked tho:

Rick Perry: Have I seen Obama's real birth certificate?

as for the hillary connection:

the barackryphal makes a strong argument for feb 29, 2008/march 1, 2008 as being the catalyst for the birther myth. john avlon's contention was that the PUMAs didn't go birther till after hillary lost the nomination. at absolute earliest that would have been june 7, 2008 when hillary conceded.

so i think we all can agree that some hillary supporters and volunteers promoted/supported the birther myth but the clinton campaign was not the origin ( wether or not hillary promoted the rumor.......... ??? ).

Whoops. I'd forgotten about that time period.

Yes, yes.....now I see why the birthers are so concerned. (Just kidding.)

Birthers are dumb. You might as well try and trick them into voting for you because they are a gullible group of people.
