Does Kent state ring any bells? Anytime there are large crouds protesting, there is always such a possibility. Anyone with half a brain knows that there is the potential for something like this to happen.

If you went further back in the posts you would see that I mentioned Kent State. The killing of unarmed students by the National Guard. 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, 4 dead, 9 wounded. Some of them were observers and were not taking part in the protest. It was deemed to be an irresponsible act by the National Guard. Live ammunition was put in the hands of once-a-month weekend warriors who played make believe war games and had no experience in crowd control.

These protesters and their cause remind me of a dog chasing a car.

They'd have no f**king idea what to do with it if they ever caught it !

Some of them were observers and were not taking part in the protest.

This is exactly the point.

Well one would think that the Kent State incident would have been a lesson to see that people who are put in charge of crowd control were better trained.

This discussion comes from a poster saying that the man was looking to be injured. I am baffled how someone would put themselves in a deliberate position to get injured, especially when it is life threatening. You stated that he should have known better being an Iraq vet. I'm sure he didn't feel that he was in any danger and didn't see the police as the enemy, whereas in Iraq his guard had to always be up because you never knew who his enemy was.

First shot at Kent was by a police plant.
For more information, you can look at the Kent State Tribunals and more.

Funny how some posters want more rights for people in other countries under other governments than we have in the USA.
And this is the democracy that they want to export?

A real conundrum for the left.

It's a fine balancing act on who to blame.....a liberal mayor?....the police (what about the union)?

The left is, at this very moment, looking for a way to blame the right.

The bottom line is this...the police need to keep order and mainain control.

Just because people say that the police acted badly in their eyes, doesn't make it so.

In Palestine, a woman protestor walked up to a moving bulldozer and laid down in it's path. Some protestors are just that stupid.

What does Palestine have to do with it?? Why not mention that a Tibetan monk set himself on fire in protest? How are either of these relative to what happened in California?
