Again, shore, every American pays the same taxes on income up to X amount of dollars. That's equal. That's fair. That's common sense.
It would be wrong to tax millionares at a 40 percent rate on the first $10,000 they make when we're only taxing other people 10 percent on the first $10,000 they make. That would be unequal and unfair. That's why we don't do it.
tax everyone at 10% or 15%...no more
a very simple tax (we will use 10% for math sake):
a guy making 10,000..pays 1000
a guy making 1,000,000 pays 100,000
a simple EQUAL tax for everyone...only a simple deduction for family size( x$ times number of people in household) off the top of the gross income
that would be fair...but liberals wont have that, because it takes away the power and control of the class warfare
Every single Americans pays the same percentage on the first $10,000 they make. Every single Americans pays the same percentage on the first $10,000-35,000 they make. Every single American pays the same percentage on the first $35,000-84,000 they make.
You don't get this? Americans aren't treated unequal. We all deserve equal treatment under the law. That's why that's what we get. The "moral dilemma" of unequal tax rates the right is trying to push simply doesn't exist.
I don't think you should be taxed for medical expenses, basic housing, etc.. so I would favor raising the limit of no taxes.
I may be mistaken , but I think if you pay for Health ins , that money is not taxed. If you pay cash for medical procedures and visits , that money is taxed. Obviously a law passed by HI companies lobbying.

Working, again, this is exactly what we have. I realize that you have been deluded for so long by rightwing propaganda that what I am telling you is hard to digest. But again.
Every single American gets taxed at the same rate for the first $10,000 they make. Every single American gets taxed at the same rate for the next $25,000 they make on top of that. Every single Americans gets taxed at the same rate for the next $50,000 they make on top of that.
This applies to Joe Sixpack and Bill Gates. They all get the same tax rate on their income. Now, Gates' income climbs a little higher than Joe Sixpack, so he pays more on income earned after the first $380,000, but he gets to take advantage of the same great tax rates that Joe gets on the dollars he earns below that.
Are you tracking now? Rightwing propanda about rich people being taxed "more" than anyone else is a lie. They pay the same tax rates as the rest of us.
The FAIR Tax IS class warfare. It creates winners and losers. It allows homeowners to enjoy untaxed housing consumption while renters must pay tax on every dollar of their rent, including embedded property taxes which are often substantially higher than the property taxes homeowners pay...plus the homeowner's property taxes aren't even subject to FairTax.
The unequal taxation of housing would transfer hundreds of billions of dollars annually upward from renters to homeowners. Why would any renter want to jack up their rent with a steep tax?
The FairTax is for rich homeowners and for people who are bad at math.
How is the Current TAX CODE not creating winners and losers when it comes to HOUSING??? Seriously???
The current tax code is for people who want to continue being screwed by the federal government and who are bad at math..

Now this could be an idea. What if we didn't have taxes? I'm recently intrigued by the only portion of our Federal bureaucracy that is self-supported - US Citizenship and Immigration Services. This department is fully run by user fees and not by tax dollars.
How can greater use of this system benefit our current governmental debacle?
Or, what if we stop all of this quasi-communist stuff and fully privatize America?
In some cases that may work . In others , its impossible. Bottom line is there are bills that need to be paid. Thats the one thing we all agree on. How to go about it is where the debate comes in.

That's not equal, that is penalizing people for exceeding a certain income. Equal would be the same rate regardless of income.

You're saying that all income should be taxed the same rate. So the first $10,000 someone makes should be taxed the same percentage as the third $1,000,000 one makes. Well, the reason why most have a problem with that is because the first $10,000 is going to go towards things like food for babies, medicine, etc. The third million is going to toward things like a yacht, vacation, nice second or third luxury home, etc.
It just seems wrong to most Americans to take a percentage of milk out of a baby's mouth. Don't think that there is a special rich guy tax rate for Bill Gates though. There's not. He pays the same great rate as the rest of us on his first $10,000.
