I actually liked Barney Frank in some ways because he was a old-time ACLU liberal. Frank actually opposed the Patriot Act. That is increasingly rare in a Democratic party that has dropped almost all pretense of being liberal, in the original sense of the word.
But he was up to his eyeballs in the Fannie Mae mess. He actually got his partner a job working for Fannie. With the role that Fannie played in the housing collapse and in turn general economic collapse, Frank leaves under a giant cloud. Any
I listened to part of his press conference. Apparently, he's claiming he doesn't want to represent "new" people and have to actually campaign? That's the strangest reason I've heard yet from a Congressman for retiring.
Long over due........ Politicians like frank are the reason this country is on its knees. Self Party Friends country in that order is his priority list.
So what does that mean (redistricted into the 4th)?
I would imagine that CaseyB lives in MA and, with the redistricting that occurs every 10 years in this country, has been moved from some other congressional district into the 4th (the seat Frank is vacating).
Oh yeah, he did a great job with the banks in causing them to make loans to people who couldn't pay.
Barney Frank makes gay people in public service look bad since in reality he should be jailed.
I also remember in the past the gay brothel that is ex boyfriend ran out of Frank's apartment. Nothing came of that because he was a Democrat as well.
If you are a Democrat you get a free pass by the press and get to F the public without being jailed. Must be nice to have such a one sided playing field in politics.

Barney Frank will be missed by millions of Americans. I hope he continues to make appearances in public and in the media.
