In that post, I am only trying to explain discrimination to another poster, and that smoking bans aren't equivelent to the Holocaust, or Apartied. These business rights/smoking threads have been done a hundred times, I have no interest in going there again.

the point I am trying to make, is that it is none of the states business to legislate against a legal habit.

not smoking, nor drinking.

It's a employment safety law, meant to protect employees from a harmful substance, not a "everyone hate smokers and they must quit" law, and that's all I have to say on the matter.

please show me how many people have died from 2nd hand smoke?

also, if the employee does not want to work in a place that allows smokers, then they can find a job somewhere else.

Secondhand Smoke

"Secondhand smoke can cause harm in many ways. Each year in the United States alone, it is responsible for:

An estimated 46,000 deaths from heart disease in people who are current non-smokers
About 3,400 lung cancer deaths as a result of breathing SHS"

The state does not forbid you from either drinking or smoking.

It regulates where you cannot drink: in a moving vehicle.

It regulates where you cannot smoke, which varies from state to state.

that is the problem with states, always trying to legislate a legal substance.

How many say stupidity was the cause of death? Yet many people die from stupid acts (including smoking). But you will never see that on a death certificate.

Nice try.
