Spoiler

The EPA's new rule released Wednesday will only cost us $11 billion a year, by the EPA's estimate, versus $40 billion to $120 billion estimated by industry groups. No matter who you believe, this one's gonna cost you.

It turns out that the EPA can improve the economy by shutting down productive enterprises. The shutdown of 20% of our electric generating capacity will create 54,000 jobs. Can we hope that they avoid the temptation to create 216,000 more jobs by shutting down the rest of our capacity to generate electricity?

Thus the latest chapter in Barack Obama's "laserlike focus on jobs."

RealClearMarkets - EPA Tries To Pull a Fast One
Absolutely. Obama has made it clear he intends to break the bank and bring about a collapse of the american way of life, with the purpose of rebuilding it in his organized community image. And all in just another four years.

For a sneak preview of his plan for the new america, read the recently released book, 'Everything Obama Knows About The Economy'

In your alternate world, that might be true. In my world, it is the right wingers screaming... "cheap energy is forever".

...to your point though, i honestly do not remember anyone, in my gradeschool days, 50's -60's being allergic to peanut's...now the school is full of them...while i dont dispute the asthma claim, i do wonder if air quality has much to do with it..

I too question this...loved your analogy on peanuts...spot-on. As for asthma..In my 4th grade class there was 1 person with asthma. That was the first time I had ever heard of asthma. In my Gr'daughters preschool class there were 4-5 kids with asthma. She was one of them.
Mom moved and the asthma went away...Why? Apparently when they went in to clean the apartment they found mold in the A/C duct from a sloppy patch job on the roof mounted A/C unit. With all the the chemicals they are using in construction materials these days our homes are literally toxic dumps for our kids. Don't get me started on what they do to our food..artificial colorings, flavor enhancers, preservatives...corn fed beef and poultry. The only truely safe food is what you grow yourself and that's if your soil and water isn't contaminated.
I don't think coal-fired power generating stations are the worst culprits here...and to be honest I'd rather have coal then nuclear.

Nope. The article says just what I quoted from it. Of course the EPA admits that there has been a rise in asthma since 1980 and the air is much cleaner than it was then.

That TV ad that shows the baby crib with the coughing, panicked baby in it makes me mad as hell. They are trying to prove that the foul air is the cause and there must be some other reason. Are you wanting to call CDC liars because of the numbers they put out about asthama?

Any weather is better than what I experienced at Ft. Devens for over 7 months. I liked Mass but not the weather.
