We have the same law here in WA, and like NV hands-free devices are exempted. The problem is that all the studies show that hands-free does not make a difference, because the impairment factor lies in the brain, not the hands. Hence it is just a revenue ploy and any cop or politician who claims otherwise is either dishonest or an idiot.
Everyone should go handsfree to keep two hands on the wheel. That's really as far as you can go though. You can't stop people from being distracted or daydreaming. My phone is out becaues it has a gps on it so it's not like I can put it away and out of sight.

The impairment factor also lies in the hands when it comes to things like texting, e-mailing, Facebooking, and surfing the web.
But if you were hit by some idiot who was trying to find his favorite song on the radio all is fine and dandy to you? LOL
Why does it have to be all or nothing? Your argument sounds like you think we should either ban all distracting behavior no matter how distracting it actually is or we should ban no distracting behavior.
