I agree with your statement. Many are still against gay marriage. They think it goes against the original tradition.

This is why marriage should be traditional again. The way the Christian God meant for it be.

you must be living in another decade. As we move into the future (while you're stuck in 1960), the public in general have moved toward accepting gay marriages than are against it. The field is pretty much even for/against

Poll: Support for gay marriage continues to rise - Los Angeles Times

As the generation that grew up in the 60's all die off, the younger generation with better views that their closed minded parents, are more in support of the the rights for gays to marry.

The younger the population that were polled, the higher the support was:

But in the last few years, as states have begun to legalize same-sex marriage, people at all age levels have shifted position on the subject. That has driven a much more rapid change in overall public opinion, the new polling shows.

Members of the baby boom generation (aged 47-65), for example, opposed same-sex marriage in 1996 by more than 2 to 1. But in the latest poll, the margin had narrowed to 42% to 48%. Similar shifts have taken place among Americans older than 65. Among those younger than the baby boomers, same-sex marriage has majority support. Among Americans aged 18-30, support for legalization is now at 59%.
And really, who really cares about those 47-65 as they are usually already married, or on their second, third, or even fourth marriages.

If there is any group that is in danger of destroying marriage, its heterosexuals.

It's just proof that the bigoted Bible beaters have been proven wrong once again. They only choose to focus on areas that make them uncomfortable. Protest much? LOL

This has been proven wrong multiple times here, and yet you continue to spout this lie. Most Americans support gay marriage, as do most Catholics. Since when did lying and hating in Jesus' name become perfectly acceptable?
