Dems Played Games Over Sandra Fluke and Obama Played Political Games to Distract

Joe the Plumber ring a bell, both sides take advantage of opportunities provided to them. Gingrich, Romney, Paul, and Santorum all could of called this Fluke chick if they see it as a big deal.

BTW, Georgetown is a university for the very wealthy. Tuition at that place is around $40,000 a year, and birth control pills are about $50 a month and a condom is 25 cents, but we are supposed to shed a tear for these students? I thought the dems were at war with the 1%, and now the dems want to give away free stuff to "the rich"??
Ms. Fluke is going there on scholarship. Many, many, grad students finance grad school through student loans.

Let's just say that bc pills aren't available and there are a lot of pregnancies.

FactCheck.org : McCain’s Viagra Moment
As for Viagra, independent studies of coverage are sparse, but the ones that exist don’t show that the drug is covered more than birth control. In 2000, an article in Health Affairs reported that “[o]nly about half of all U.S. health plans reimburse members for at least some Viagra pills.” A 1999 Washington Post article reported that the drug company Pfizer, which makes Viagra, estimated the coverage rate at 40 percent. And a 2007 Mercer survey of large employers (500 or more employees) showed that about 30 percent denied coverage of erectile dysfunction drugs, and most of the remaining employers imposed limitations on coverage. A Pfizer representative had no comment when we requested more up-to-date information.
Still a Concern?
Certainly, the data on both Viagra and birth control coverage is incomplete. But while it may be accurate to claim that there exist insurers who cover erectile dysfunction drugs and not birth control, it is not accurate to imply that this disparity is common. The reporter’s question was out of date at best. Planned Parenthood, a major advocate for reproductive rights, should know this.
When we asked Planned Parenthood whether insurance companies were denying coverage for contraceptives, the group pointed us to the text of a 2003 amendment introduced by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), which would have prevented insurance companies from denying such coverage. The text of the amendment includes the claim that "half of traditional indemnity plans and preferred provider organizations, 20 percent of point-of-service networks, and 7 percent of health maintenance organizations cover no contraceptive methods other than sterilization." This could be referring to a 1993 Guttmacher study showing that 49 percent of indemnity plans did not cover contraceptives, and that less than 20 percent of large-group indemnity plans and PPOs and less than 40 percent of point-of-service plans and HMOs covered the full range of reversible contraception options. By the time the Murray amendment was written, that information was 10 years out of date. Now, it’s 15 years old and irrelevant, given Guttmacher’s more recent findings.

Rush's show is the most popular radio talk show ever to be on the air. He made talk radio what it is today.

Rush is intelligent, insightful, and his assessment and comments about this contrived "controversy" over b.c. and floozy Fluke have been right on target. He has understood this attempt to obfuscate the issue with regard to Obama's "health care" mandate since the very first day. Virtually all of the legacy media have missed the point, or have purposely avoided it, choosing instead to perpetuate leftist calumnies that Republican wish to ban birth control!

Sadly, Carbonite has chosen to make it's bed with the left.
Did he forget that he was leaving the country if health care passed?

So, according to your reasoning, Rush is a secret agent of the Democrats because it was Rush and the filth he spewed that ignited this fight. Ms Fluke's testimony and the Republican's attempt to stop it would have gone largely unoticed by the vast majority of the people had it not been for Rush. So if you want to blame someone then you'd better look to Rush for the blame.

What are you actually upset about? That a White House plant got Republican leaders and candidates to speak honestly about what they think of women and contraception? Is it the honesty you don't like, or the fact that it has shed light on just how out of touch these leaders and candidates are with a majority of Americans?
We are upset because the president thinks he has the authority to force US citizens to purchase products and then give them away for free, or face federal fines and punishments.

Republicans understand that women are able to buy their own oral contraception pills, or condoms, or even abstain from having sex altogether. The pill costs a mere $9 a month at Walmart, and they are free at many clinics across the US, but women like Fluke want the federal government to force other citizens to give her the $70 birth control pills for FREEEEEEE.... and if it's not free, its akin to enslavement of women or some such idiocy.

More medicines covering more categories

  • Important prescription medicines have been added to the $4 program covering glaucoma, attention deficit disorder/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), fungal infections and acne. Fertility and prescription birth control will also be included at $9, compared to national average prices ranging from $24 to $30 per month and saving women an estimated $15 to $21 per month – $180 to $250 annually.

What is being illuminated is the "gimme" generation, who thinks if government is not forcing someone to give something away for FREEEEE then it's a violation of their right to more free stuff.

Women have been going to their doctors and receiving prescriptions for birth control pills for 50 years, no one is even hinting or suggesting that this come to an end.

So that justifies demanding they get everything paid for, their education and their birth control pills? Once they graduate from law school they will be earning six figure salaries, i'm supposed to feel sympathy for them and give them free stuff?

Ms. Fluke chose the university, knowing full well that their health insurance did not cover paying for birth control pills. Now people like fluke, want to demand that George Town university not only change their moral stance on contraception, but they want to get it all free of charge too.
