What aren't you following? This AP article says as a child, Obama was cared for by a transgendered man, who thought he was a woman; dressed up as a woman. Obama even used to watch this man put on Obama's mother's lipstick, according to the article. This may explain why Obama seems particularly sympathetic to the LGBT movement and has appointed so many of them to high level positions. It may explain why he appointed the homosexual man, Kevin Jennings to the Safe Schools Czar position. Jennings wrote a forward to a book called, "Qu**ring Elementary Education," which talks quite a bit about the need to gender neutralize children. This apparent personal connection to the LGBT community may indicate a partial explanation for Obama's actions. (Not just monetary support.)

I don't think the OP is taking issue with this just posting it as a cause to Obama thinking that people who are different than him as people too.
