When the sole purpose of that simple sonogram procedure is to be an intervention/confrontation tactic to shame and humiliate women, then yes, indeed they should "whine" about it.
That is only your opinion. It's not about shaming or humilating women.

I respectfully disagree. If that was the case, the arguments for it would be of a medical nature. As it is, most of the arguments for it are the morally passive aggressive "She's already getting an abortion, so she shouldn't mind one little procedure." or "Why shouldn't she have to see the baby before she kills it?" or "What's the big deal? It's no worse than a pap smear!"
The merits of it are being argued on moral grounds, not medical necessity.
This is key: We actually ARE "free to take another life". We just are. It's the law and had been for quite awhile. Now, operating within the law and exercising that freedom makes it VERY reasonable for people to WHINE about a not so simple sonogram procedure or anything else that politicians decide to throw out there just to make themselves look good and get votes but has nothing to do with actual health care.
You should be whining as well since it's setting a precedent that may bite you in the butt one day. Don't like what someone is doing because "your tax money" is going to a cause in some convoluted, round about way? Make laws that force unnecessary medical or other procedures or processes on you just for discouragement purposes....imagine it.
I ain't buying the excuse by the pro-choicers that this ultrasound is about spending money. Many in here have already admitted the real reason. If one is so confident in their decision to have an abortion nothing will sway them otherwise. If it does, then they had some doubt to begin with.

What don't you get about FORCING a medical procedure on someone?
Why do you think medical procedures should be FORCED on someone?
Would YOU want a medical procedure FORCED on you whether it was needed or not?
Contrary to what YOU think, a patient has the final say in what is done to them, NOT the doctor and NOT the government.
I know you won't answer any of those questions but do you like MY idea of controlling women's reproduction?
""""I think they should pass a law that forces all women who want to have a baby spend two years supporting 5 foster children , on their own, .....to see if it's really what they want to do.""""

So now you admit that the sole purpose of the procedure is to shame and humiliate women into changing their minds about their choice to abort (and to punish them if they don't)
These laws are about male control of women and their reproduction system. It is a step in forcing women back into home and under control of their fathers, brothers and husbands. Another factor is mediocre men are tired of competing with excellent women for the good jobs. They do not want to lose Mommy and have to compete with Sister.

The crux of the argument of the pro-choice side has nothing to do with spending money, and everything to do with an unnecessary procedure being forced upon women seeking their legally entitled access to an abortion. It's about pro-lifers trying to obstruct, shame, and humiliate because they see themselves as self-appointed morality police, and nothing more.
