Since the House of Representatives is controlled by Republicans and their budgets have been from Bazzaroland, the U.S. has not had a budget. When the Dems controlled the House prior to Jan. 2011, it was the GOP members in the Senate that stopped the Dem budget from getting passed by requiring 60 votes in Republican filibusters and obstruction.

So, where is the DEMS budget (bolded above)? I mean if obama can suggest a budget, then why can't the Senate?

Hell, even the dems along with the repubs voted to not even look at obamas budget....97-0.

So, we can sit here and play games all day long, and point fingers, but in the end, no matter if you like or dis-like the repubs budget proposal, at least they are attempting.....like it or not....

As I said, any budget that the Democrats propose in the Senate are torpedoed by Republicans there.

The narrative that Democrats haven't proposed a budget is false. This article proves it. It just is not possible to get a bill past GOP intransigence.

O.K., they have proposed a budgt, but to say that it is ONLY the GOPS fault, is a blatant lie....

From your article...

Quote:
In a stark illustration of the divide over how far to go in paring spending, neither a plan by House Republicans to cut $61 billion nor a much more modest Democratic alternative could attract even a 50-vote majority in the Senate, let alone the 60 required for approval. The Democratic proposal received just 42 votes; the Republican proposal 44. Fourteen senators opposed both.
So, this article was back in March 2011, how many since then and how about from 2009 until this article in 2011?

How many GOP plans have been tabled by reid? Won't even bring them to a vote.....again to say it's the GOPS fault is just an all out lie...

What is causing a no budget situation is gridlock. Republicans refuse to consider any measure that raises taxes and Democrats refuse to place the burden on those who can least afford to shoulder the burden.

What the Ryan Budget does is lower taxes on the wealthy while drastically cutting food and medical aid to the needy. Even more dishonest is his claims to be revenue neutral by eliminating "loopholes" that will bring in trillions of dollars. What are Ryan's loopholes? He hasn't identified a single loophole he would eliminate. Yet, according to Howard Gleckman of the non-partisan Tax Policy Center:

Quote:
Ryan proposes big, specific spending reductions such as cutting Medicaid in half and slashing other federal spending (except for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid) by nearly 75 percent from current levels by 2050. But his budget still can’t add up without eliminating or sharply scaling back those popular tax preferences. Which ones, it seems, remain a state secret.
So, once again, we have a GOP budget that slashes taxes on those well off while inflicting cruel cuts on everyone else. As President Obama said, 'this is a radical budget that makes the GOP budgets of the 1990s look like the New Deal.'

Ummmm, I belive that Ryan budget was passed by the house both in 2009 and this year....what happened to them? will this years be voted on bythe Senate or tabled like the 2009 budget?

Ryan's budget got more democrat votes than Obama's got Republican votes.

you tell me who the radical is.

Beyond that Ryan's budgest passed the house. Obama's budget was defeated in the house without even a single DEMOCRAT voting for it.

Obama is the radical.
