Usually we see prices rise in Spring/Summer, but this is just incredible. Almost $5/gal in California already.

News from The Associated Press (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_GAS_PRICES?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAUL T&CTIME=2012-02-18-16-20-35 - broken link)

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Gasoline prices have never been higher this time of the year.

"You're going to see a lot more staycations this year," says Michael Lynch, president of Strategic Energy & Economic Research.
But...this is what the dems/obama/Left really want....HIGHER gas prices in order to force people to change their lifestyles to one more in line with what they think it should be (of course, THEY are all exempt).

The media is already out of ahead of this...as a warning to obama I believe, which they believe will hurt his re-election chances (Duh!!).

Quote:
The Oil Price Information Service predicts that gasoline could peak at $4.25 a gallon by the end of April.
That would be another record in the obama Wreckovery.

Last year, gas took a huge bite out of people's wallets.

News Headlines

Missing $4,155? It Went Into Your Gas Tank This Year

Almost $4200 extra for gas.

And here we have a president who is intent on crippling domestic energy production. Jobs and pain at the pump don't rate up there with appeasing his liberal environmental base, who said they would NOT support him in 2012.

Quote:
It's been 30 years since gasoline took such a big bite out of the family budget.

When the gifts from Grandma are unloaded and holiday travel is over, the typical American household will have spent $4,155 filling up this year, a record. That is 8.4 percent of what the median family takes in, the highest share since 1981.
Here's a very, very interesting chart;

Well, he DID tell us his policies would make energy skyrocket, didn't he?

And he DID tell us $4+/gal of gas was ok...as long as it rose slowly.

I doubt many people would agree with him on that one...except for his radical environmentalists.

Unleaded Gas Approaches $5 Mark; Savings Possible for Savvy Shoppers - Local News - Los Angeles, CA - msnbc.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46468801#.T0RHF_nh-So - broken link)

Quote:
The highest gas prices in Los Angeles were at the Shell station on West Olympic Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue with the cost of regular gas at $4.93 a gallon and premium gas at $5.09 a gallon, according to gasbuddy.com.

The No. 2 spot belonged to the Mobile gas station on South Hacienda Boulevard and Gate Avenue in Hacienda Heights with $4.87 a gallon for regular gas and $4.99 a gallon for premium.

Lowest gas prices, according to the website, were at Valero on East Manchester Avenue and San Pedro Street. Customers could expect to pay $3.81 for regular gas and $4.01 for premium gas there.
What a bargain - $3.81/gal.

Now, I seem to recall GWB getting an lot of blame and scrutiny from the media AND the democrats in 2008.

I guess it would be fair then to credit obama and his disastrous domestic energy policy for this as well.

I'm not the one ...I think reducing our petro dependency would be good but of course, half our electorate has been brainwashed to believe that it's a bad thing so oh well.

Maybe we can build a pipeline from Canada. Oh wait, never mind, the president killed that idea.
