I think for anyone to make that claim is an absolute disgrace and an insult to those who died/survived the holocaust.
Israel has it's own little holocaust going on with the Palestinians. They only thing they learned from the past is how to conduct a holocaust against another religion in a more present day "acceptable" manner.
Your comment is DIGUSTING!
You have the unmitigated gall to say that the "claim is an absolute disgrace and an insult to those who died/survived the holocaust", and then in the very next sentence equate the horrible fate of the victims of the Holocaust with what's going on with the Palestinians. Nothing could be more of "an absolute disgrace and insult to those who died/survived the holocaust" than your comments.
You're post is a TRIVIALIZATION of the Holocaust. Even among the extremists, few make such a claim. I can only conclude that your intent is to inflame and outrage.
You should be ashamed of yourself, and the moderators of this forum should seriously consider their policy of allowing such a comment to stand. It sullies this forum.
The Jewish holocaust was only one of many government-sponsored mass murders of the 20th Century. Perhaps a little "trivialization" is needed, considering how over-inflated that specific one has become.
Nothing in the TOS requires that everyone bow down before the Holocaust and say it's the single worst thing in the history of mankind.
That's mass political murder, not a "Holocaust"--which is popularly taken to mean "genocide." And even at that, what government, when threatened with extinction, doesn't fight back by killing people?
Yes, you are right about the terminology. But the point is crimes against humanity can and do still occur despite how "unlikely" they may be, or how much we just can't imagine them happening in our modern day.
We are fully aware of what's happening. We have the power to stop it. And yet we don't.

Instead of trivializing one, maybe we should inflate the others so they don't seem quite so normal in your eyes.
"The powers in charge keep us in a perpetual state of fear, keep us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor with the cry of a grave national emergency. Always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant sums demanded.
Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real."

Is it possible to over-inflate the attempted intentional genocide of an entire race?
Another Holocaust can't happen again? Please... For a more current example look at what's happening in Syria. People are being slaughtered and Assad is basically giving a big middle finger to the rest of the world because he knows we won't do anything about it.
The amount of people killed in Syria is dwarfed by what happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany.
I said, in my post, that genocide is still a very modern problem, but I doubt that it will ever occur on the level it did under the Germans.
If Israel has nothing to worry about then why are we so worried about Iran getting a nuclear bomb?
Really?
You can't think of anything that makes the Middle East strategically important?
