Please tell us why? How will prosecuting an overzealous fool that killed an unarmed black kid cost President Obama votes? Are you saying that America wants to have an open season on black kids in the wrong place even though they live there? I can only hope we are a lot better than that.

I am wondering about Mr. Zimmerman's legal status and why his case has not been brought to a Grand Jury and he has not been charged with manslaughter at least. He did shoot an unarmed man and all such shootings need to be investigated.
It is the prosecutors determination that the evidence supports the charge, presented to a grand jury to validate it does, and the courts to determine his guilt. Obama doesn't factor into the decision at all. It's how the court system works.
Are you saying that if the elected attorney general of Florida finds there is evidence enough to present to a jury (after first to a grand jury) that Zimmerman committed a crime...that is so wrong people would be willing switch their votes simply on the basis of their skin color?
If the prosecutors found evidence of guilt would you rather they not prosecute a criminal?
Are you saying overzealous gun-toting idiocy is that prevalent in Florida? I'm not sure if you're aware, but the rational and logical citizens of America don't subscribe to disobeying police dispatchers to play hero just because they want to finally shoot someone.
If Zimmerman is charged with murder in Florida, Obama will quietly lose white votes across America.

I don't think the Martin/Zimmerman fiasco is going to affect the Presidential Election. Obama spoke about the (in his opinion) injustice of it, but has shut up and been VERY quiet in recent weeks.
