Feeling pretty emotional right now. Not because Zimmerman has been charged; but because Trayvon's parents know that he did not die in vain. His death was not brushed aside; the public cried out for him and demanded justice for him. Though his life was short, he has touched the lives of many.
RIP, Trayvon. Whether Zimmerman is found guilty or not, know that we DID NOT allow your death to go unanswered.
Do not have died in vain means you died for something and a purpose was served by the death. Exactly what did this kid die for and what purpose was served?
We have not heard all of the facts in the media. There is a toxicology report, witness accounts, an autopsy, GZ's medical records which have not been released to the media. Oh and the forensic evidence and ballistic report have not either. Of course there are a lot of facts that we still don't know.
Agreed, all it would take is one piece of evidence to make this case swing wildly one way or the other. I can imagine a scenario in which no gunpowder residue was found on Trayvon's clothes making Zimmerman's whole story fall apart post haste.
The special prosecutor is doing this to appease the lynch mobs. I strongly suspect if there was a grand jury involved no charge would have even gone forward, hence the SP not using one.
Unless there's some incredible evidence being witheld, he's going to walk.
That MAY be the reason to go for 2DM. The prosecutor keeps everyone happy by pressing for a murder charge (perhaps knowing there isn't evidence for it), the jury aquits and he walks. Since he is tried for the crime, the prosecutor can not then file manslaughter charges.
It worked with OJ and there was no rioting when a murderer walked and there is far less evidence of guilt in this case.

You are kidding, right?!
He died to expose the INjustice running rampant throughout the country.
This event would never have even come to light if Trayvon's parents had given up on learning the truth. In case you don't remember...the Sanford police department told the parents back in February that their son was killed in self defense and the case was closed. The police wouldn't even let them see the POLICE REPORT!!!!!!!
If he was your son, would you just have accepted what the police said, with no shred of evidence?

WHAM BAM! Where are the naysayers now? All the folks that thought people were overreacting because we wanted to see JUSTICE done, and a thorough investigated completed??? Clearly our interpretation of the basic facts (although incomplete) was in align with the prosecutors. I have NO doubt he will be found guilty! GOODBYE Zimmerman!
Yes, but the folks who were shouting "Wait for the investigation to be completed before you rush to judgement" will now probably change their tune and say that the investigation was rigged and Zimmerman is only being charged to appease the public.

The only injustice I can think of is that a man was charged with murder (when he is really only guilty of manslaughter) just to prevent people from going ape****.
The original prosecutor didn't even find enough evidence for a manslaughter charge and now the new prosecutor hand-picked by the elected DA charges him with second degree murder? This is starting to sound a lot like that disaster of a Duke Lacross "rape" case.
I wouldnt clap too fast. If all the facts have been what we heard so far in the media, your not going to find a jury of 12 convinced "without a doubt". I think too they dropped the ball that the trial will be in Sanford. I think people in that town have their mind made up, irregardless of new facts or not after the scrutiny the town has been under. Can we say hung jury
It'e 'beyond a reasonable doubt,' not 'without a doubt.' Not that it matters. He'll be convicted of something. He was a real dope for not leaving the country.
