Great so we all agree that both of the people involved in this altercation both had full rights to be where they were that night. Based on what I've read they both can reasonably claim residency in the complex so they both "belonged" there.

People who were there have stated that Trayvon was beating Zimmerman meaning that yes, he was at the very least "an" aggressor if not "the" aggressor. In addition to that we know for a fact that Trayvon got shot, that's pretty much a known fact.
People? How many actual eyewitnesses were there? And you do realize that eyewitness testimony is not always reliable and credible...don't you? It is up to, what I assume is the FBI at this point, confirming the reliability and credibility of any witness claims.

He had every right to be there. He was visting his father and father's girlfriend. The community is a mixed race community. It's a damn shame if a teen cannot take a walk at 7 PM to get a snack...anywhere.

You said "people" which translates to plural...more than one. I asked you how many.
There are also the issues surrounding "eyewitness testimony". There are thousands of sites that discuss some of the problems with it.
Professionals take the possible shortcomings of eyewitness testimony into consideration. Was the witness drinking prior to "witnessing" the incident, does the witness wear glasses, proximity of witness to crime scene, etc. These are just examples of technical issues as there will also be a character reliability check of the witness.

An eyewitness is certainly better than a witness who didn't see a thing but thought they heard a voice that sounded like an adolescent crying out for help.
