He is a joke to the vast majority of psychologists and psychiatrists in America.
He still clings to an old almost Freudian view held in the 50's and 60's that gay men had distant fathers and over-protective mothers.This has long been debunked, discredited and disproven. He also completely ignores or misrepresents all the research on sexual orientation which proves his ideas are just religious wishful thinking and quackery.
Dr. Nicolosi says it is caused by a non-involved emotionally distant father plus an overly critical, overly-involved mother. I can see that. The boy wants the love of his father but never gets it then tries to find it in other men and that attraction becomes sexual instead of normal men to men relationships. A lot have been sexually abused by a boy or man. Gender confusion is the result.
Please stop. You are making yourself look silly.

The fetal brain develops during the intrauterine period in the male direction through a direct action of testosterone on the developing nerve cells, or in the female direction through the absence of this hormone surge. In this way, our gender identity (the conviction of belonging to the male or female gender) and sexual orientation are programmed or organized into our brain structures when we are still in the womb.
However, since sexual differentiation of the genitals takes place in the first two months of pregnancy and sexual differentiation of the brain starts in the second half of pregnancy, these two processes can be influenced independently, which may result in extreme cases in trans-sexuality. This also means that in the event of ambiguous sex at birth, the degree of masculinization of the genitals may not reflect the degree of masculinization of the brain.
There is no indication that social environment after birth has an effect on gender identity or sexual orientation.
As far as Dr. Joseph Nicolosi's findings go it is caused by absent fathers so any broken family where the father is missing or not emotionally there you will have kids who are at risk. Kids being raised by single mothers as well. That family dynamic is epidemic now so we may have more and more boys growing up to be gay. Not a certain, but a risk. If the mother is critical of her son showing roughhousing, etc. the things boys do, then they get the message they will be dismissed for being male. Girls need fathers just as much.
So if a gay household supports the boy and has a man who can father him or be a role model and they accept him as a male, he has a better chance of growing up straight. I read some lesbian households do not like men or maleness so those boys would be in trouble. All kids need to be accepted the way they are born. Their gender should be celebrated, never put down.
This is pure nonsense. It's the 21st century, not the 1950's.
I read about that study. They arrived at that stat by asking college age women if they ever had a sexual encounter they later regretted. Anyone who said yes was counted as having been date raped/assaulted. It's completely bogus and does a disservice to people who genuinely are victimized.
That figure (or close to) it is supported by many studies, not just one.
I believe the male and female anatomy explains quite clearly who is supposed to be doing what to each other. An appendage and an orifice. A male and a female. Procreation. The rest it outside of bounds.

Big news. I don't think that anyone can really choose their sexuality.
That is exactly what is happening with many young women with the whole Bi experimentation craze these days. Not so much with men since Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise arent kissing on National TV yet (And I have no problems with that). When you have young women who are free to explore their Bisexuality and are encouraged by peers and the media, it's no surprise you have more young woman asking theirselves if they are Homosexual at some point? whats the difference between someone whos homosexual and someone whose Bisexual living the life of a Homosexual: "Choice".
If I have any problems with this, it's the dilemma and confusion that primarily Bi people have coming to the cross roads when put in the position of having to choose, when in actuality they don't have to choose at all.

I would say if a child really was Bi-sexual and all of the examples around that child were same sex relationships the child would most likely engage in same sex relationships too.

THen explain why the prostate (in many men) is perfectly placed for anal sex and oftentimes results in orgasms when massaged.
