I grew up hunting deer and small game. We ate everthing we killed. My brothers even tanned the hides and made gear with the hides. I nevet got into tanning the hides. I never got the idea of "sport" hunting. It's a rhino. You wait 'til it comes out to mate or drink, then you blow it up, cut its head off and wow, you killed a rhino. You wanna impress me? Take a knife and kill a rhino. Or a deer for that matter. A deer can **** you up.
I'd like to meet this "hunter" and beat the crap out of him.
Note how he shoots almost everything in the vitals. Can skip to abou 00:39. This might look cruel, to those who have never hunted game. Cruelness keeps the population down so they don't starve to death, and kills feral hogs, which breed quickly and decimate other wilfelife. I don't know what this has to do with white buffalo. Since you posted it, you should be aware of what the Dept of Natural Resources is doing overall, which is protecting the CAFO's, concentrated animal feeding operations, that the gov't can control and subsidize. As is typical with gov't, pasture or dirt raised is more environmentally sound and cost effective. Consumers can choose cleaner meat, humanely raised. Gov't doesn't want us to have that option.
Feral pigs are domesticated pigs that either escaped or were abandoned. http://www.thepigsite.com/articles/6...ing-operations
The killer should suffer the same fate if caught. I wonder why the animal was not better protected as it does signify a good omen to the Native American people. I suppose no one thought that anyone would be savage enough to do this, but I am not surprised at just how low a human can sink. Maybe this criminal is a descendant of Buffalo Bill.
I wondered the same thing, why they didn't protect them better. Very sad story.

I also wondered why this calf was not better protected. Or at least why the ranch, itself, didn't have better surveillance equipment in place. I cannot fathom the depravity of the person or persons who did this.

The average farmer/rancher doesn't have surveillance equipment on pastures.

You being from MO and me being from NE, we both know that. This little guy was akin to a national treasure to Native Americans so it would seem prudent to take at least a few security measures.

Loc irresponsible "hunting" vs. responsible hunting/taking care of the land. It's easy for some people to miss, I suppose. There's those who kill quickly and cleanly to take care of the land, and there's jerkwads who kill sacred white buffalo for kicks. Altho I imagine the guy killing the deer and turkeys and feral hogs also got a rush from it. One is legal (And happens every year); one's not.

Nothing is sacred to more people today than ever. Lack of respect for anyone or thing. The dumbing down of morals and anything that stands for good.
