We live in a society where kindness and empathy towards others are seen as weaknesses. I don't like it but it is what it is. I really don't interact with people much anyway nor do I care to.

Partisan hacks and ideologues are hypocritical wastes of space, be they right or left. Liberals are at times guilty of what you state, just as are conservatives. Because that is a human trait, not specific to one party, philosophy, etc.

I could just as easily state that conservatives demonize immigrants, the poor, homosexuals, people of different religions, etc. because it is so important for them to have an enemy to scapegoat and feel superior to.

Or it can even become a weakness in my case. You can only distance yourself from people for so long so I can never accept this..not with the way things are now anyway.
