With you? Not possible. Didn't you claim our educational system was just fine? I think you need to learn a thing or two about what is happening at home before you attempt to dive into the deep end of the pool.
Me? I'm an Olympic quality swimmer.
I like the deep end.
The deeper it is, the more room on the bottom for for me to stack all of you wingnuts.
Because socialism is for the people, not the socialists.
These are the very same people who fight against school choice vouchers at every turn.
I'm a lefty and I think many public schools suck. There are some good ones, Michelle Obama went to one. I hope to send my kid to the same school she went to.
Bottom line is that I think citizens should have an option between public and private. I know options are a no no for right wingers, but that's what I believe in.
Try to educate yourself about what Finland is doing right, and then come back to have an intelligent discussion.
Try to educate yourself on reality.
1. We are not Finland.
2. We will never be Finland.
To make the assertion that adopting the "Finland model" would solve all of our problems is downright stupid.
Now, if one wants to have an intelligent discussion, some type of logical reasoning is required. Something such as an example of the execution of the "Finland model" or something similar resulting in an improvement of the state of public education in the United States. Not just unfounded assertions and old "But Europe does it" argument. It is getting quite old.
It seems quite obvious to me that our current education system is flawed at its core, and we all know the definition of insanity.
My father was a public school teacher for years, and it was about as difficult as could be to actually perform the job properly due to the way that the system is currently set up.

Your perception of time (or your memory) seems to be a bit off, perhaps it is you who should get some rest.

According to many of your buddies on here, your father was the problem.
My solution to public schools, more accountability, get rid of tenure, and have a 3 tier system, top notch public schools for A students, middle notch schools for majority of kids. and bottom tier (military style) for effed ups. You threaten a teacher with bodily harm o miss half of the school year , off to the short yellow bus, adios thug, nice knowing you.
