A lot of people on welfare do indeed work but Walmart and convenience store wages don`t put food on the table.
Why not? That's why people have roommates, and/or multiple generations live together. It cuts living expenses.

You`ve spoken with democrats who prefer to keep inner city minorities on welfare? I`d love to see the transcript of your conversations.
Don't have to speak with them You can see the results for yourself. Others have noted that Democrats oppress minorities in this thread, as well. Go to any inner city. You canseeit.
Senator Rand Paul bashing the Civil Rights Act isn`t exactly what you would call "reaching out" to minorities.
And when the Dems claim that welfare reform is an attack on black people, which shows they think black people need welfare, it shows how they think of blacks.

West Virginia, huh? What party is Senator Rockefeller (AND former governor of WV) from WV?
As for the hills of Tennessee... no jobs in Appalachia. Plenty of jobs in the inner city. But Democrats prefer to keep inner city minorities dependent on welfare so they'll get their votes. It's working. Minorities are over-represented on the welfare rolls, and those who receive welfare overwhelmingly vote Democrat (60-80%).
Outside of McDonald's and KFC, where are these jobs?
No surprise as the left feeds the poor, and keeps them in a state of dependence..
