Read the first pages but you can blame this on illegal immigration and the feminist movement, men have become second rate citizens compared to women when relationships is concerned. Blame the government for turning men into insecure *******.

Whaaaaat?
You really should read the ENTIRE article...it's really interesting.
Part of it states that men DON'T want relationships because they can live at home for free and use porn for sex. Why go out with a woman (i.e. spending money, needing to be emotionally available etc.) when they don't have to?
How are they becoming second rate citizens?
And what does the government have to do with anything?

Thats a load of bullcrap, sorry.
Illegal immigration jobs are usually jobs that men do, women have been elevated in the workforce, women are more experienced at a younger age and men aren't getting the same opportunity that men gotten in the past, affirmative action, government assistance and more has taken away the need for women to keep average Joes and go after upscale males. The room is not big enough for everyone to sit in.

So, because women were given a chance to be successful, and succeeded, it's our fault men are living at home and mooching off their parents? Men get PLENTY of opportunities, women are still only 3% of Fortune 500 CEOs, women comprise less than 3% of my chosen career field. Men need to quit blaming their lack of success on women.
Oh, and I happen to prefer 'average Joes' as do most of the women I know. I don't think it's too much to ask that a man doesn't live with his parents, has a job and doesn't sit around playing video games, looking at porn and smoking weed all day. Apparently, not wanting those things is considered too 'upscale' now?

*whip crack*
As a man, you women don't want these things either. If a man is successful, enjoys things like cars, hiking, biking, shopping, and lives out on his own, but unfortunately, is a little awkward, shy, polite, etc. He gets stomped on.
This post is exactly why I married my wife. A lot of the women I dated before her were just like this. Yikes..
As far as the article, I don't know what's up with the 2nd poster. But the article is really hard to read with all the woman boosting features and the self advertising manner. I don't know how many times I would read "so and so from this of this so and so.

i hate to say this but i agree.. A lot of guys have a lot going for them, car, job, living on their own, have a ton of activities.. but because they dont have a nice enough car, powerful enough job, big enough apartment or house.. They are overlooked.
It is quite a sad state of affairs, what is going on with men in this country. From my experience almost every guy I've dated have fit this articles description to a"T". Eventually, I outgrew their inability to move forward (aka out of their parents house) stop playing games and spending every cent they made on their hobbies/cars etc and realized that this is the norm for a majority of mid to late-20 year old males in this country. While I was working through grad school most all of the guys I was dating were still living at home with over-protective mothers, 5-6 years working through their Bachelors degrees without a care in the world. I hope something can happen in this country that still allows women to progress but also allows men to stay at the level they once were.
My question, with the several gender and women's studies classes I took working through m undergrad, where are the gender and male studies courses? Some may argue, they exist in every standard History, English, Math and Science course, but I think that addressing masculine stereotypes and male gender roles (that dont only involve war and stereotypical masculine studies) will help young men understand that it's okay not to identify with those typical boxes and start living individual and find empowerment in whatever it is they choose.
not to mention, if it talks about the change of attitudes and mind sets of men and women from the 50s to today on how women are now better equipped for the work force and are more mature and what not, why shouldnt women now have more equal footing in the dating world? It should be socially acceptable for women to ask men out on dates, pay/ split costs for dinners and dates. If women are fustrated that men arent asking them out or ready to settle down then women should also be proactive in finding men that are. Neither side should just sit around waiting for someone to come
Men are moving more towards keeping the fun going than accepting responsibility. In some ways, there is an attraction to that. Instead of moving out, working hard, studying hard, and struggling, they choose option B. Continue to go out, have fun, play video games, buy the things they want since they are not spending on needs like housing.
I am not sure it is a healthy "freedom" but they have more freedom in this lifestyle to satisfy their desires, instead of struggling to just meet needs.
