You aren't factoring in that in a combat zone, you are expecting to be shot at at any moment. These people were ambushed at a place where they are on their lowest guard.
Strange as it may sound to you, some people like ex combat soldiers and retired LEOs are never at their lowest guard. It doesn't take a genius to know that somebody is shooting at you in a crowded room. At that moment you have the choice to either fight back or curl up in a ball and pray. You can also run and get shot in the back. You can't outrun a bullet as these poor victims learned.

So the solution is to turn the country into an armed camp aka Iraq? Yeah, that'll make us all safe.

Why is everything an outrageous absolute with you people? Nobody's asking for the whole country to be an armed camp. Where do you get such ideas.

The solution to mitigating such incidents is to have well trained, concealed carry, legal citizens who know how to use their weapons to respond to the madman who snaps. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Nobody wants to arm the entire population. The theory here is that if just a few well trained individuals had guns they had a chance to take out the perp and mitigate the damage done. How does this translate into arming everyone in the country in your world? Your post is ludicrous and inflamitory.

Why did no one fight back?

Is it the continuing wussification of American males? Programming of public education? Mike Adams raises some real life questions here. I can't for the life of me imagine a theater full of people, just waiting to be shot. Something isn't adding up.

That isn't true at all. You are only on top of your game for a set period of time. People are usually "ex" something for a reason.

For the supporters of 'gun control'............ It is already illegal in Aurora, Co to carry a concealed weapon. It is ILLEGAL in Aurora, CO to transport a weapon in your vehicle. Did James Holmes simply make a mistake, or was he a criminal, therefore ignoring the laws already in place? What legislation would have stopped him?

No wonder so many people just tried to run away. It's a designated victim zone.

But they never loose that sense of awareness that they developed unless old age dementia has set in. Once a cop, always a cop. Once a combat soldier, always a combat soldier. They, more than most know from experience that bad s#!t happens and it happens quick. I would be willing to bet a dollar to a donut that 99% of retired LEOs carry a concealed weapon.

Wait a minute: You are saying that although I can walk into a gun shop and purchase a firearm, I cannot put it my car and take it home after the purchase???

Nah - perhaps you want to review your statements above .....

There is no reason to restrict access to guns because of lone gunmen. They'll find means of destruction one way or another.

Should there be restrictions on what kind of guns you can buy? Maybe, there is an argument to be made there. But it doesn't mean we should outlaw every semi automatic firearm. I like to hunt, but I don't need an AR15 for that. BAR works just fine for that job.
