I actually think it's pretty funny. People just run around the world looking for reasons to be offended. He's 4 years old for God's sake, he probably has no clue what it means he just heard someone use the word.

Who cares?

Is what Bristol Palin says really an issue? If you hate her so much, things she says wouldn't bother you. She can say what she wants, you can have an opinion, but this is really a non-issue.

Move along now, nothing to see here.
In the "privacy of their own home or in personal conversations" broadcast through cameras that THEY had set up in their home as part of a reality TV show that THEY pitched to producers, and sold as a show, to make a few bucks? You bet they can say what they want, but you can't act shocked and horrified when the public responds with disgust to WHAT they say.

First thought...kids say bad things sometimes. Maybe it caught them off guard. When my son was four he told my friend she was a hot ass mess. I'll admit I laughed...it was random and I laughed before I caught myself. Then I told him it wasn't a nice thing to say. And I stopped letting him hang out in the living room when I was watching Girlfriends and The Game.

Second thought...why isn't this in the entertainment forum? Bristol is not a political figure and a four year old with a colorful vocab isn't that controversial.

Third thought...if the op doesn't like her why read/follow anything that has to do with her?

Congrats
I found it interesting. It's not headline news, no, but I don't know why anyone would get so upset about someone simply posting a discussion about it. If you don't like it, no one's forcing you to participate.

I'm sure some of the people who don't want to discuss it are the types who use crude language to describe homosexuals. They don't want to think about anyone disapproving of their language.

Ah, so you represent everyone in America except the left? Sure.

People can talk about whatever they want. You're free to recuse yourself if you're uninterested in the discussion.

Undoubtedly kids sometimes repeat things that they hear adults say, like swear words. While inappropriate for a child to say, there is a big difference between a swear word and a slur.

Family values of social conservatives, don't ya now. I wonder if some of the backlash about this thread is that some of these people use the word that this child used, and they don't want to have to think about the hate speech they are using.

I don't control what is headlined on a major website.

Neither do I but I manage to avoid topics that aren't interesting to me.

No backlash on my part I don't use the word and doubt my son has ever heard it. I just think this is less about family values and more about you wanting to share negative information about Bristol Palin.

Ha. In other words, she shouldn't talk about Palin because you've decided that it's a non-issue.

I thought right-wingers supported free speech.

Ha. I think you're the one who needs an education about free speech and the law.

Sure, the Palins can say whatever they want, but so can we. Don't try to silence a discussion about the frickin Palins just because you don't like it. What - are you related to them?
