If it was genuine I could understand, but it is so superficial and staged on his part. I would think the Israelis would be more insulted than anything else!
Probably to make up for 4 years of Obama kissing up to the terrorists and thugs of the countries surrounding it, telling Israel to go back to the pre-1967 borders, and other such outrages.

Why did Obama kiss up to the Middle East on his apology tour?
Because, along with England, the US has meddled in the affairs of Middle Eastern and Asian countries (e.g. Operation Ajax, US support for Saddam during the Iran-Iraq War).
Romney is doing what he does because he needs the support of Bible-thumpers as well as the need to appease the pro-Israel lobby which has diverted hard-earned taxpayer dollars to Israel.
Obama must be doing something right, because Israel's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ehud Barak said today:
