You can't possibly be that closed minded.
Your post made no sense.

How is it closed minded to actually budget for expenses as opposed to borrowing for everything?

The purpose of government isn't to provide compassion. That is what mommies are for.

Even the Red communist Chinese knew to keep it to historical spectacle. The Olympics is about the athletes and sportsmanship and human camaraderie NOT hard left, divisive political games.

Total b.s.

Why do you think the Tories were elected in the first place?

No. So an adult can decline to waste money on things like "midnight basketball for at risk youth" and "multicultural poetry slams to enhance AIDS awareness"!

This will probably be difficult for you to believe, because your American exceptionalism mindset probably won't allow you to see anything outside of that narrow little prism, but the Brits weren't thinking about America when they put together their opening ceremony. As the host country, they were showcasing to the world the things they, as a nation, are proud of. National healthcare is one of those things. Your outrage at their pride in being able to provide healthcare to all of their citizens is both laughable and sad.

The UK ought to be ashamed of what they've done to the Olympic Movement.
The opening ceremonies was all about the country's history, wtf are you smoking?

Why would the Brits resort to "propaganda" to advocate for universal healthcare? They already have it. They are obviously proud of it and the people that work within its system. It's propaganda from the right in the USA that is making a big deal of a non-issue such as this.

BTW...I'm sure that their healthcare system has benefitted their homegrown athletes and the ones of the future.

Since then you haven't fought one battle or incurred one cost for defense of anyone other than your own business or geo-political interests.

Here's a thought; one could easily argue that the boogyman in the room we all needed hypothetical defending from was created by YOU! Here's another; you haven't won a war since Korea and that one is still a draw to this very day so how was it again you defended any other country from anything, oh wait, I know, you restored Kuwait to it's ownership by oil-rich Shieks ` well done on that!

Bank bail-outs; oh my, this from the citizen of the country that insisted on deregulating the banking industry, lowering mortgaging rules and instituting senate forced compliance by at least two of your major mortgage houses to provide mortgages to people who could not afford to buy a home.

Through that aforementioned de-regulation YOU allowed the formation of risk based equities to be sold like so much used toilet paper on the world market precipitating the biggest melt down since the depression but somehow those Brits are performing poorly?

Deflection of the first order my fine deluded friend.

While Britain lauded it's national health care program publicly for all to see, I find it strange the only nation to find that objectionable is the one who will allow it's own citizens to face bankruptcy, or even worse, because they cannot afford their prescription drugs. 2012 you say?

Pot meet Kettle.
I was referring to America's nuclear protection of the UK during the Cold War and our "generous" Federal Reserve extending free money to UK banks like Lloyds and Barclays during the meltdown.

"Outrage"?

Why do liberals have to put words into the mouths of reasonable thinkers?

And "the Brits" weren't showcasing British history.

Danny Boyle was showcasing hard left politics at a most inappropriate time.

Also...they can't provide free healthcare for their citizens without going broke, apparently.
