We think we can't reverse course and go back to the bad old days before King's dream. The possibilty of that now seems remote, but historically has proven to be a possibility.

We won't ever return to those days because fortunately the nutjobs around here are less common in real life.
The real breakthrough we are starting to see is that the very definition of "minority" is starting to go away as more and more people don't fall into a category and the mainstream won't put up with racist garbage just because the offender is "protected". Todays racist looks less and less like Archie Bunker and more and more like the people Mr. Bunker used to complain about.
