I keep hearing people saying they wish the conversation were more civil, with less acrimony, etc.

Is the acrimony coming from liberals' increasing viciousness as they start to lose more and more elections, polls, etc., and face a coming disaster this November 2102?

Or is it coming from the GOP's refusal to put up with that viciousness, and their newfound tendency to fight fire with fire?

Which came first?

Should the Republicans stop replying to things like this that constantly flow from disgruntled liberals, and let them carry the argument without response? Or should they keep responding?

BH Interview: Lovitz Says Obama Tirade Drew Death Threats

Lovitz Says Obama Mockery Drew Death Threats

by Christian Toto
7 Aug 2012, 7:14 AM PDT

Jon Lovitz spent much of George W. Bush’s presidency doing what nearly all of his peers did – making fun of the Commander in Chief.

And no one said a peep.

When the “Saturday Night Live” alum chided President Barack Obama for saying the rich don't pay their fair share earlier this year, he ended up letting a security escort walk him to his car. Lovitz tells Big Hollywood that his now infamous podcast rant against Obama’s class warfare rhetoric led to death threats left on the voice mail of his Universal City-based comedy club.

“I know where you eat,” one message warned.

(snip)

Lovitz also got called a racist for critiquing the president, even though he’s never been associated publicly with any racially insensitive comments.

From the article:

"What I find bizarre is how the quote liberals are bringing up race ... saying, 'shut the **** up.' I find them so close minded. I thought you were liberal," he says. "You should be tolerant of everybody whether they agree with you or not."

Lovitz also takes issue with organizations like GLAAD which pounce on comedians for saying politically incorrect material on stage. “They don’t understand irony and sarcasm. They take what [comedians] say literally … it’s ridiculous,” he says.

This is what we get from the tolerant and freedom loving liberal left. Liberals have been proving time and time again that they are anything but tolerant.

Conclusion: There are idiots on the left who know nothing about politics who call people racist for criticizing the president and (allegedly) send death threats. There are also people on the left who actually do want the conversation to be more civil.

And there are idiots on the right too. And there are people on the right that stupidly lump all liberals together. And there are liberals that were once annoyed by that but at this point feel like it's just white noise coming from the ultra righties. And of course there are sensible people on the right.

I know this is dumb now (I took a politics test)...but I used to think I WAS a liberal, because they were open and fair minded. Turns out I am a moderate independant with conservative fiscal tendancies. LOL Thank you C-D for setting me straight. I was soooo confused.

This noise is why nobody takes cries of racism seriously any longer even where true also.

Sad isn't it?

Liberals are only 20% of the population, and since so many are this vile and violent, then a very large percentage of that 20%, which is why liberals are worthy of scorn.

Just look at OWS, a very large percentage of their rallies and protests turn violent. If the violent, unsavory and intolerant liberal was a small percentage, then they would not be able to affect the OWS movement, but they are a large percentage which is why they have this big of a footprint.

The TEA party movement, like any national movement, has attracted unsavory types, but unlike liberal movements, they are a tiny and insignificant percentage and cannot affect the TEA party movement.

Guess he can have an iota of an idea of what the President must be dealing with, coming from the hate filled, vile spewing, anti-American hate mongers that conservatives and rethuglicans are.

Mile in another man's shoes...
