You're gettin' there except for: Two adults do NOT need a "head"...a marriage should be like an equal partnership.... if there's children the adultS (both) are the head of the children..

The fact that this thread (and many of the posts) was made not in jest, but in seriousness blows my mind. It'd be like seeing an elephant pass by my house. You know they exist, but seeing one stroll through suburbia...

ME TARZAN, YOU JANE. YOU NOT BE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD, IT BE MAN! IT LAW OF LAND.

How come that equal partnership thing gets thrown out the window when the decision is whether or not to have an abortion?

Do you think this frequently happens in marriages?

For example:

Bill, a married father of two - four votes
Jane, a single mother of three - four votes
John, a married father of seven - nine votes
Lisa, a single college student living alone - one vote
George, a single college student with two roommates - three votes (George is the designated head of household, his roommates do not vote)

This also ensures that children, who have legitimate interests in the common good, are fairly represented at the ballot box.

Besides the fact that this is the stupidest thing anyone has ever suggested...I just have to ask because it jumped out at me for the last one. Why do the roommates not vote? So someone gives up their right to vote simply by getting a roommate? If you are going to argue this then why stop there? Why not say the landlord in an apartment building of 50 units gets 260 votes and tenants get nothing.

The tenants would get a vote - but the landlord would cast it.

Anyways - this would be limited to individual units - so not to worry!

I was wondering about that one as well. I had a roommate who I split expenses 50-50 with right down to the power bill. We were friends, but we sure as heck didn't vote the same way. How the heck would you deal with that one.

And your reasoning for not allowing the owners of this $1,000,000 New York City duplex to vote is?

Wow. Men can get pregnant and give birth? Who knew? I swear the next time I get pregnant I'll be happy to live in your world and let my husband go through nine months of nausea, weight gain, heartburn and backaches!
