When I was 10 I knew murder was wrong. I LOVE that Texas executed this cold blooded killer, The world is a better place without him. I hate all murderers and wish we had multiple executions a day. We need more states like Texas.
He was smart enough to kill, no? Is it any relief to the victim's family that their loved one was killed by someone with a low IQ? If low IQ is reason enough not to execute, is it also reason enough to just set him free?

Is this really the United States of America in 2012? Just shameful! I guess we should be thankful at least that he wasn't actually innocent of the crime he was convicted of, unlike some other unfortunate souls murdered by the backward state of Texas.

No, he should not be set free. That is not what happens. He is obviously a threat to society. He should never be released into society. In situations where the killer is mentally retarded they are either kept in prison or sent to a mental institution. Being mentally retarded does not diminish the threat to the society. It is the punishment that should be altered. IN a murder case, the ability to understand right from wrong is a factor in the case. A mentally retarded person does not understand.
No. You can be dumb and dangerous. Look, obviously the courts and the jury had a chance to examine this much more closely than we and decided the man deserved to die. That doesn't make me happy; a human life has been cut short and that is no reason to rejoice. But the people of Texas (and other states) have decided that some murderers should die, this man among them. So be it.
