There should be a low minimum and mandatory tax -- equal rate for everyone.

And then there should be a voluntary tax for whatever someone feels like paying -- those who believe in massive and very generous welfare handouts should be free to donate whatever portion of their paycheck or bank accounts they would like.

No one should stop any rich liberal from paying higher taxes.

It's selfish to want middle class people to pay 20% and the rich close to nothing because they can afford those expensive CPAs to get them every tax loop hole in the book.

Yeah, that's really selfish.

Let's give them tax breaks on the back of the middle class. God knows they need it to buy those fancy cars and mansions.

When you seek to shield the fruits of your own labor fron the tax-grabbers, you're "selfish" and "greedy".

But, when you seek to raise taxes for special interests, (assuming they're Politically Correct, of course), you're "public-spirited".

Go figure.

Every person in this country, when they are young, gets invested into, at a rate they cannot possibly pay back, sometimes by well-off parents but also through tax-funded services (like, for example, the polio vaccines that basic science research came up with that none of you paid for but that you all benefit from). Some of those people then go on to be extremely fortunate in their labors. Then they choose not to pay-it-forward. Then they get called selfish, and they whine about it, but that doesn't really matter, because they are selfish and their whining is just more proof of that ugly fact.

Taxes are our primary way of making sure people are consistently paying it forward. This isn't about you and your loser peers that you hate so much even though you love America and just kinda hate most Americans. This is about you knee-capping the next generation of people just as smart, ambitious, and talented as you, who need to be invested in, just like you were, even though you never paid a cent for the discovery of that polio vaccine.

The bigger question is why do wealthy liberal politicians like Obama and Pelosi and hollywood hypocrites, not write out checks to the IRS. They say they can and should pay more. So do it then! No one is stopping you from writing a check.

Very simple answer. Because it is selfish for some to put their lives on the line in foreign lands while others won't even pay the bill and leave it for future generations.
