Of course I believe in redistribution. So do you. Do you drive on a highway? Have police in your town? Schools? Water treatment? Those are "redistributions" of wealth. The government chose to take money away from you and me and spend it on those things (you didn't build that). Get over it. The redistribution thing is just stupid talking points being repeated by ignorant partisans who don't know the first thing about economics.
Here's a fact: Free market economies can not continue without systematic, periodic redistribution of wealth down the economic ladder. They end up in social unrest, revolution and (gasp!) economic experiments like communism otherwise. The rich can't just keeping getter richer and the poor poorer forever. Eventually the poor get pissed, take up arms and kill the rich.
Yes, we really have no idea what Romney would do (if he could get congress to go along). Like his taxes, he likes to keep things opaque and unclear. But why worry, vote for Obama. He has made it clear that the programs will be retained in their present form with some possible adjustments for age of retirement/income tests on copayments in Medicare, increases to push the ss tax up to higher income levels. Romney hints that he likes the voucher program. I don't, you won't. It simply pushes the rising costs of medical care onto seniors. It is a horrible idea.

No, you are wrong about that. Medicare, for example,according to the CBO, is solvent until 2024 thanks to Obama's reduction in payments to providers. Ryan's plan, taking the same money and giving it to the rich, would bankrupt the program in only a couple more years.
There are going to have to be changes in eligibility, benefits, revenues, etc, but the programs CAN continue to offer seniors peace of mind in their final years as they do now (present form of single payer government program) rather than years of fighting insurance companies and struggling with medical bills they have no ability to pay. If you want your parents or yourself to have the same level of financial comfort with respect to medical care as current seniors enjoy there is only one choice in this election: Obama. Will it be free? Nope, no way. We will have to pay for it. Surprise, surprise. I think most Americans are willing to do that.

With a rise in premiums, more seniors will end up getting both medicare and medicaid.
60% of nursing home costs are being paid for by medicaid.
25% of medicaid's money is going to seniors.
Medicare today doesn't give them peace of mind.
And with rising costs and shrinking reimbursements the situation is just going to get worse.
Seniors today have problems moving anywhere because it is so difficult to find a doctor that accepts new medicare or medicare/medicaid patients.

Obama just told us we live in a safer world a couple weeks ago, Bin Laden is dead and on the week of 9/11 our embassy was attacked and 4 men died. There were embassy attacks all over the world with the muslims shouting "Death To America". Obama denied it was a terror attack and ran around apologizing for a movie, Should we just stay asleep? Republicans don't want war the same as you don't but we do want America and Americans to stay safe. If you want to talk about warmongering, Obama has created a war within the United States.
Cradle to grave care is not what America was founded on. The pilgrims tried a socalist program where they shared everthing and soon found that it does not work. There are to many takers when things are free. When the pilgrims changed to you keep what your grow and you can barter your own goods. This is when we became a prosperous nation. I am not saying everyone is lazy but if we continue down this road we are doomed. I dont need the goverment to be my nanny. I believe if you dont work you dont eat. People need to rely on there families or their church if they need a hand out. Sorry thats the way i feel.
