You also realize that if the economy were substantially stronger, the gas prices would probably be closer to $6 a gallon?
Domestic production may have increased but due to the pi$$ poor economic and environmental policies of this administration investors are sticking to oil which in turn drives up the price. Be careful calling someone ignorant when you don't have the basic facts. That, is basic economics 101

We are finally below $4 again, saw several stations yesterday at $3.95 and $3.99 - not much under $4 but it still seems less
without that 4.

it was never over $3.60 here i don't think it even reached $3.60 so it's probably closer to $3.50 now, of course where i live is very low cost of living glad to see it going down though, as the economy improves and we have more production in the states hopefully it'll go down

Still over 4, and it's going higher (oil crossed 91 a barrel again today).

Isn't it funny how after Katrina when gas went to $4, the media and the fringes of the left claimed it was the end of the world, yet now when it's $4, it's apparently no big deal and gets no press?

part of that is we've gotten "used" to it over time back then it was newly $4 and there were stories a few months ago when it hit over $3 it died down after awhile when Bush was in office too. It took longer though because it's a bigger deal when you were paying under $1/gal. where I lived to over $3 so it stayed in the news a lot longer, and before you say i'm a leftist please read some of my other posts like not liking gov't spending, and such i'm a moderate and gas prices this high are not good, it wasn't a good thing with bush it's not a good thing with obama, and i really wish people would quit making either one of them sound like heroes they've both been bad for this country and most people agree with that that are moderate whether they are center left center right or just plain center...they're not the litmus tests, you want some litmus tests how about reagan, there's a good litmus test and i know the conservatives will scream at this but also jfk, he did a lot of good things too. two of the most mediocre presidents in our history are not setting the bar too high
