It's easy to oversimplify this of course. For example there were many Southern Dems who were on the wrong side of history. But I don't think there is much question that it was the left that led the charge on reform. In the early days (50's & 60's) some black activists were not oriented towards collectivism (e.g. Robert F Williams). But the left offered an alliance, whereas the right did not. That's how we wound up with 90%+ of blacks voting for Democrats.
No ended up with such a high percentage from having the last 50 years of lying about the truth. Like the lie that the Dixiecrats became Republicans, even though almost every one of the Democrats that voted against the civil rights remained Democrats until their dying day.
Truth is racism will never go away, you have many humans fighting over resources, many of whom are scarce. People will always find a way to say the group they belong to is superior, and should have an easier time to these resources, it is what is people!

Even if we were all the same race, these things would still be an issue.
Well technically we all are the same race, but I get your point. We would find something else to divide us. Skin color is the easiest and therefor most convenient.
Civil service does.
The corporation I work for does.
Civil service does it because racism exists primarily in Govmnt hiring and higher education. I don't have any issues with leveling the playing field for anyone that has been wrongly disadvantaged. That goes for any race or gender.
As Bob Dylan said a few weeks ago: Americans are at each others throats when it comes to race.
BOTH blacks and whites have a role to play in this. It's not one group, it's both.
Things have come a long way in the 60 years I have been on this planet. The OP question is moote since it's based on a fallacy. Americans have done something and they are doing something. Over 200 years of history and culture takes time to change. The Serbs and Croats are still killing each other over something that happened over 500 years ago!!!!
Racism will always be an issue in this country as long as we have Republicans and conservatives.
That is true because the democrats and liberals are always bringing up the race card to try to cause problems between races. If the dems would keep their mouths closed, there would be no racism!
From my position, up here, north of the 49th paralell, it would seem that many Americans of whatever race, have a vested interest in NOT solving the problem.
I'm talking about those individuals and organisations that make a living from racial unrest, such as the NAACP, and the Black Panthers and the Black Muslims. And don't forget the Nation Of Islam, either.
...
I'm old enough to remember standing in Windsor, Ontario in the summer of 1968, watching Detroit burn, just across the river, and listening to the sound of 50 caliber machine guns being fired by the Michigan National Guard troops.

That being the case, you're also old enough to know that the White Aryan Resistance, Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations 88 and many more are white organizations make a living from, and foment, racial unrest.
I am curious as to why you cited only black-based organizations.
