Your voice is your vote.

If you want a stronger "voice," you have to get involved in some kind of social or political activism.

So many complain about "no voice" but do absolutely nothing to get it heard. They do not visit or write to their legislators, they do not write letters to their local newspapers, they do not get up petitions on anything, they do not volunteer for anything, they do little but sit around a whine.

What kind of "voice" would you like to have, specifically?

What have you personally done to promote gay rights?

whites are disenfranchised solely because
we have a black president now?

gth out of here with that nonsense!

that's ridiculous. most whites are
doing very well by obama, even if
they didn't vote for him.

For starters, I'd like to live in a home that's NOT taxed at a much higher rate than the home next door. But I know that's entirely too much to expect in a classist society.

What I am curious about is the level of frustration that is being generated by the polarization.
It seems as if the chasm between political views is widening in comparison to past times.
Elections used to be like the Super Bowl, everyone talked about them the next day, but after that it was pretty much forgotten. What I have seen in the past 8 or 10 years is a growing and lingering hatred by both parties of each other, in conjunction with real frustration and disgust of both parties by the 3rd parties.
