I don't think the OP knows what "blasphemy" means.

I am not religious at all, but I don't know why so many people hate 'god'? I am not offended by Christmas decorations or when people say god bless. As for the President leaving out thanking god, it strikes me as odd.

I love listening to old right wingers talk about the founding fathers and the origins of our holidays. If there is one thing that the internet has provided it's the power of FACTS at the average Americans fingertips at all times. It's fun to tell my parents what uneducated idiots they are and explain to them that everything they believe is complete BS at the dinner table every holiday. It gives me a special feeling to know that my children know the truth about almost everything because they have the desire to know and access to the information unlike past generations.

Good grief! I'd hate to be invited to your house for a holiday dinner. Sounds like fun, NOT!

PS: Your children may yet surprise you!

It's mainly just my dad. My mom stays out of discussions about history, religion or politics once she realizes that she's in way over her head.

I'm sure my children will disagree with me on many things as the grow up but they'll never be uneducated or close minded as they already poses the ability to think for themselves in a way that my parents and grandparents can't.

No-one really cares. Sorry, but you fundamentalists are going to have to get over yourselves. Your self-important attitudes are disgusting.

I don't want to start any blasphemous rumors, but I think you are right.
