Or maybe the adult staff member armed with a concealed handgun could have accidentally shot a coworker, like the stupid gun nut at the University of Colorado recently did.

CU employee charged in accidental shooting in medical office

Proof once again that you are more likely to accidentally shoot someone, rather then defend yourself or someone else with a gun.

Which means that many of victims would have survived their injuries.

So no, a .22 could not have accomplished the same, and a knife would have accomplished even less.
You don't know your guns do you? A .22 is one of the preferred guns by assassins since it is lethal and very quiet. You can purchase hollow point .22 cartridges that would be extremely effective.

A .22 in the right hands would be an extremely effective killing weapon. The AR-15 uses a .223 caliber bullet and the projectile is about the same as a .22.

Get educated.

Time and again, we find these mass shooters had been well known for their disturbed, violent thoughts and tendencies. Enough.

What I will argue against and what I believe is ridiculous are these people wanting to ban all guns. Also those that have a pretty appalling lack of knowledge of how guns work and types of guns. How can people have such strong views on certain guns when they don't even understand what they're talking about? My suggestion would be learn something before passing judgement. Would allow us to at least have an intelligent conversation about it then.

You want gun owners to have a conversation about guns? Fine, then the people wanting to pass these laws and such need to do their homework otherwise you're speaking from a position of ignorance.
I agree but few people are talking about banning ALL guns. The NRA and some corners of the right wing have suggested ANY curtailment of access to guns is akin to banning all guns. Which is patently ridiculous. The Supreme Court has affirmed the right of individuals to own handguns.

The damage done by an AR15 round is about the muzzle velocity not the caliber. So, in this case, you are either friggin' ignorant, or making an argument you know is false in an attempt to further your agenda.

Either way, the quoted post is excrement, as is every gun nut on this forum who thinks that their sad "inside" knowledge of firearms makes them experts in making our society safer...excrement.

Or the shooter may have skipped that school completely, if he'd known there was a possibility of armed staff being inside.

Silly, we need to use the suggestions of these gun nuts to make our schools safer, even if they are complete morons driven by their own death fetish, we should take it that they are making rational educated arguments.

I have spent years protesting the war. No need for a sarcastic smiley face in regards to that.

I"m sure the shooter had an obsession with weapons of death. What's new, America is a violent society.
Between wars and violent video games, they can just fantasize about it more.

But this incident, can not be put into the same basket, as one having a gun to protect themselves or their property.

Ah yes. The typical liberal response - emotional namecalling attacks. So much for a ban on bullying.
