Where's your source? I'm talking per capita, not total gun crimes by the way. Obviously CA would have the most, they have the most people along with a pretty high per 100,000 rate.

By the way, found some more data. Stuff from 2010. The Wiki stuff was from '04 FTR. This stuff is from here: Gun crime statistics by US state: download the data. Visualised | World news | guardian.co.uk

1. DC
2. LA (Louisiana, not Los Angeles)
3. MO
4. MD
5. SC

We have been raised on a culture of violence, it is in our blood. Why did our country reelect President Bush and Vice President Cheney when they lied their way into killing hundred of thousands of innocent Iraqi's, and it was obvious by November of 2004 they had done just that?

Americans are insular, violent and, as this forum proves, very ignorant people. Massacres like this should really surprise no one.

Besides, guns are manufactured to defend oneself. I have the right to defend myself at any costs.
You defend yourself. Go for it.

Of course, the little ones that just got killed had no defense against a gun (or four).

Get a clue. I'm clearly implying cops aren't trained to defend people. They aren't. Nor are they required to.

You may want to visit a police station once in your life.

That's what I looked at. (Last time I posted a link I got yelled at hmmm)

Case closed.

DC has the STRICTEST laws. Number one in 2 categories and number three in the last.

What's left to argue?

Odanny I'm beginning to have the opinion it's the rsult of technology. All of these recent killings have been done by young men in their early 20's and that's not a coincidence, this is the insta gratification generation that expects everything a mouse a click away that whines and cries about it when it isn't.. They have grown up in the computer era where life revolves around Facebook, their phone, a video game or even a forum like this. That has become this generations world until they get a cold hard slap of reality from real life when they become adults and some of them can't handle it.

LOL. How about the other states right up there. DC is a city. Of course it has a higher rate. To say the gun laws there are ineffective would be correct, but to say that's the reason for it is idiotic.

On the other hand, you have a lot of states with lax gun laws in the top 5.

Also, here is deaths from fire arms per 100,000. This includes accidents, which should be included for obvious reasons.

1. DC
2. Alaska (is it AK? I thought that was Arkansas? )
3. LA
4. WY
5. AZ
=6. NV
=6. MS
8. NM
9. Arkansas
10. AL

All besides DC have lax laws.

There are more people in the DC area then Ak.

But these are deaths, not necessarily homicides.

Question ???

Cigarettes kill millions more than guns. Yet they are not illegal. What makes you think guns will ever be banned? Just curious.
