I'm starting to wonder if he even had Asperger's. His mom could have just used that as a cover up or excuse since Asperger's is fairly acceptable.
Aspergers is even the "in" disorder. Almost a status symbol.
The liberals don't mind stigmatizing the mentally ill, even the autistic. It's fine to make it look like mentally ill are extremely dangerous and have no self-control at all. That makes it almost alright to do mass murders, after all nothing can be the fault of the killer.
Makes one wonder how much "mental illness" is really spiritual illness.
Actually early reports said he was Catholic educated. His relatives are saying he was home-schooled. And you are a proponent of both. So if you are going to be wondering about spiritual illness it seems fair to address his entire background and how that affected him.

Cover up and excuse for what? And I dont think it's his mom making that diagnosis as she is dead, it's people like you posting on forums.

Asperger's is not a status symbol. Its a humiliating disability and it invites bullying. I wouldn't blame this on Asperger's as a lot of people have it and would never do what he did.
I think the OP is right. Something is definitely wrong in this country and while mental illness is part of it, its also spiritual.

Clearly. The same "something" that's going on with every crazy killer. I like to call it "crazy killer".
He may have had Asperger's, he may have been left handed, he may have had an outie instead of an innie...none of which has anything to do with what he did. I haven't heard anyone say he killed BECAUSE he had Asperger's.
