Ok, let's do the math. We have 5.6X more people. So 58 gun deaths X 5.6 = 325 gun deaths vs our 12,000.

Do you have anything else?

They used to have a gun problem there and they dealt with it. They banned guns. Now they have 58 gun deaths a years. You can't argue with that point.

Sure you can. Britain has always had a lower rate of death by firearm than the US, even before gun control.

Mexico has gun control similar to Britain, yet has a higher rate than the US. And Jamaica has strict gun control. But Jamaica has the 2nd highest rate of death by firearms in the world. (El Salvador is #1--I am unfamiliar with what their gun laws are).

Now how does the implicit theory, the one you "can't argue with" account for those examples?

Public distribution of guns has got to go....and it will go. As sadly - tragically, the petrified minds of the gun zealots will insure repeat performances of the horror we just went through. You know as well as I that it won't take many more to effect a sea-change in public sentiment. There will come a day when the merchants of death won't dare open their mouths in public and it can't come too soon.
You should become a leader for the libs who claim Fox is not a news channel. Your support of Piers Morgan is supporting the idea that these shows don't have to be news, just rants.

Leadership, eh? Like name calling and insults?

I am not going but you are welcome to go to the UK where only the bad guys have guns. It is that way in all the liberal places like the UK and I don't want to have one of the bad guys after me unless I can shoot back.

Let us know when you decide where you are going.

Hey, I grew up in a home without guns and have had none in mine till last week, but I have never whined and howled about something that would be a violation of the Constitution either.

The constitution is outdated. Time for change.

Fox is a news channel with an unmistakeable slant tailored to lure and please the religious right and big corporate interests. CNN is a news channel that obsesses with topics near and dear to the loony left. Everyone knows that and no one would deny it and expect any credibility. So whatever point you're trying to make about media isn't discussion worthy.

When Piers Morgan talks on the subject of "gay marriage", he makes me sick to my stomach. So don't mistake my applauding his stance on the mindlessness of gun distribution to the general public for an across-the-board endorsement of his views generally of of CNN's editorial slant.

People who continue to fight for the kind of gun proliferation we have in this country in the wake of the latest among countless incidents and the clearly mounting inescapable evidence that the public cannot be trusted with guns ARE stupid. I applaud him for saying it and I'm saying it....again.

The typical defense of the gun fanatics to challenges of their mindset, seen here time and time again, is "ok, let's ban banana peels because people can slip and fall and break their necks!".

We, the thinking, across the political spectrum, have had enough. Guns in America is NOT a left-right issue.

Roy, the Constitution is nothing but the penned ideas of other men who lived in ancient times, in comparison to today. Most of them were great ideas and timeless in their relevance. The 2nd Amendment was deemed wise and beneficial at the time, probably for sound reasons. It no longer is.

In another thread I asked you if you wanted a future with body armor and bullet proof backpacks for your great grandchildren. That's where the 2nd Amendment is taking us today. Deemed necessary in 1791, it has since become an enemy of our freedom and well-being today and going forward.

You're too smart to keep denying it, Roy. At least I hope you are. There's nothing to be gained by staying with the "let's ban banana peels" brigade.

Fight fire with fire. Only way to stop a man with a gun is to shoot him before he kills everyone.
