I completely agree with Gov Christie on this. The atmosphere in Washington is exactly what he said it is. It's all a game for them. The don't care squat about Americans. Both Democrats and Republicans. All of them should be kicked out of office.
So y'all should get all the damage paid for while Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama get less than half?
By the way those figures are often per capita figures which are almost always misleading because the federal government often gives block grants i.e. 50 million to every state for a certain program regardless if a states reps necessarily voted for it or not. So even though Hoosiers might not want the $50 million, they still get it, and because they have less people it bloats the money received per tax payer figure.
We're not poor states, that's incredibly arrogant, nor do we truly rely on any of you. To say that is as ridiculous as saying y'all rely on us for your food or the military that keeps you safe (on average 63% of armed forces recruits come from the "poor" states of the Midwest and the South despite these two regions making up a much smaller percentage of the US population).
That would be fine for you to say if only you gave us the food and military for free. We pay for all of that. Our high tax dollars pay for the military salaries. If we stopped buying the food and imported from other countries, our food prices would go up, but your farmers would lose a lot of money in sales. Thats not even mentioning farm subsidies. On the other hand, when our money goes out to a state with a lot of medicaid recipients, we get nothing in return other than the satisfaction of knowing that we are helping our fellow man.
Again, since we give so much to the rest of the country the rest of the time, why is it arrogant to expect the rest of the country to take less of our money now so we can pay for ourselves to get out of this mess? We are only asking to keep more of our own money.
The takers in the RED states are terrified that their gravy train might derail if the blue state givers were ever given some support. It is just another example of the RED state children never letting go of the Federal T*t in the sky.

Once again y'all aren't "giving" all this money to hold up the red states. It's an incredibly misleading statistic.
1. Block grants awarded to every state: Congress often passes legislation that gives equal dollars to every state. If each state gets $50 million dollars, regardless if a state voted for it or not, states with lower populations will seemingly be getting more.
2. Less populated rural states have a much higher proportion of federal owned lands such as National Parks. Therefore tax dollars that seem to be going to these states are really just going to support the federal government's land holdings.
3. Going off two, these states also have a way higher number of military installations, which probably is the highest inflator of why states receive so much money per capita.
4. Highly populated states receive hundreds of billions more in gross tax dollars.
Lastly, while military members our paid, I would argue that the sacrifice their families and not to mention themselves make is worth much more than the salary they make. To simply brush them off as getting paid by your tax dollars is nothing short of callous and yet again, arrogant.
Every US citizen pays the same federal tax rate. How that money is spent is up to congress, a body in which your highly populated states have many more members and therefore votes.

Looks like Christie is building his own army of swooners. He is counting the votes the sheeple will bring by his slobbering around begging for money. Democrats love that kind of stuff. The po widdle vicitims need money now dammit. And that debris from the tsunami needs to be tracked NOW!! LOL
One would think folks would actually want bills debated after the healthcare and stimulus were shoved down the throats of the US citizens. But no these crooks just play to the emotions of folks and they get all wound out and start screaming YES HAND THEM AS MUCH MONEY AS THEY WANT!!!
Does anybody wonder why were steering this ship to a 20 trillion dollar deficit? I sure don't. Everything is free in the eyes of many. And somebody was in a storm so dammit they need MONEY!!!!
If you consider GDP per capita, states in the Northeast are some of the most important states and worth investing in. States like Mississippi, Ohio and Indiana are consistently a drag on this nation. It has nothing to do with blue states and red states. Wyoming is a very successful red state. The rich states sure to prop up the poor states.

Wars, entitlements, healthcare reform, poor states.
