Not needed, there is 911 free of charge.

Not needed, prosecutors will prosecute a violent offender at no charge.

Not needed, prosecutors will prosecute a violent offender at no charge. What victims need assistance with are going to the courthouse and submitting protective orders, and legal advice on how to get out of dangerous situations.

Why do the GOP hate women so much?

GOP Blocks Violence Against Women Act - The Daily Beast
So the options are either "support VAWA" or "hate women"?

There's no possibility that the act was simply poor legislation?

Why is it either support affirmative action or you're a racist, support Obamacare or you want children to die in the streets, support welfare without work requirements or you hate poor people, support tax increases or you don't care about the middle class?

If you tried framing a question with at least some modicum of intellectual honesty, you might actually get a useful response.

She can go to a hospital and get treated. If she doesn't want to report it, then there is probably a reason including culpability (it was provoked) or she wants the relationship to survive. I think in both cases her wishes should be honored.

That's what's the police are for. As soon as she reports the crime they will give her the necessary steps. What we don't need is a bunch of frivolous middle - men, holding women's hands, on my tax dollars.

I don't think it's poor legislation, given that it has passed for decades. I believe this current crop of far-right Republicans in the House are holding it up because they do not want to allow Native Americans to prosecute domestic violence offenders or something like that. I haven't yet determined why they are blocking the bill, other than block just about everything.

Well, you provide a great example of why a lot of women don't want to report sexual assault, because of attitudes like you express above.

The police do not assist women in all of the issues surrounding domestic violence----they are there to enforce the law, not provide support and assistance and guidance.

But let's be honest...it's fluff legislation to prop up the base of hard left wingers. Anyone who's atleast semi-literate can spot that.

Besides, why not just make it a domestic violence piece of legislation that assists ANYONE in an abusive situation?

Why alienate everyone else by making it gender specific?

I think we all know why.
Actually it props alot of the men haters and feminists with a job

This is true unless they are in a gay relationship that is. They think that most men are the abusers and do not understand that most women do stay with the abusers through many instances when they should leave.
That is a stastical fact. They dont want to help men at all they want to talk the women into leaving the men.
It really makes no sense if they want to stay then they should get the help to do so. It is not about what is best for the advocate but what is best for each client and their situation
